Laziest professor I have ever had. He did not even have the syllabus ready for the class until a week after we had already started. Final grade is made up of 90% exams and 10% lab. His lectures are nearly impossible to follow. Take any other professor because I learned practically nothing in this class.

Comment:
Lectures are very philosophical/descriptive, but too much so: picking out the relevant content becomes a tedious chore. He wasn't disrespectful but still somewhat rude to the students, and (*in my opinion*) was too quick to blame them for doing poorly on his tests. He waited till the end of the semester to determine how grades will be calculated.

Hard to follow during class when writing examples on the board. Only solves using variables and then dumps out a numerical answer. Tests and labs are the only thing graded. Tests are all multiple choices so no partial credit given. About half the test was like homework problems. If you've never taken physics before, can be a very challenging class

Nice guy, kinda funny but not the best lecturer. Seemed kinda lazy. Examples were hard to follow and I think he left out some info that we needed. Lets you use equation sheet for quizzes and test. Labs were kind of a joke, most of them you get done in 30min. Leaving early was nice but makes you worry if you're learning everything you need to.

All quizzes are group quizzes. Homework is not graded. Very laid back type of guy. Exams can be difficult; go to the optional days to get extra help

If you haven't taken physics 1 before, it's pretty tough considering he doesn't grade the homework and you're only graded on quizzes/exams.

Terrible professor. One of the worst I've ever had. Tests are multiple choice which is so stupid for a physics class. No partial credit obviously. Don't take physics with this guy!

Doyle is the man.He is the smartest professor in the engineering program hands down and should be the head of the EP department. He is very easy to get along with and always has time to help out a student with a question.Recommend him for any class.Tests and HW are hard, but he is a fair grader. If you show you know the basic idea, you can't fail.

Not bad.. he knows what he is doing. If you do the homework and speak when you dont understand something, you will be fine. Tests are not surprising. Overall a good prof.

I'm very unsure how to rate him, the exams are all multiple choice and they are your only assignments. no real empathy for being in college. hard class if you never had it before. did not attend lecture for four weeks straight but did all the homework. if you understand that you're set. got a b in the end. hes not personable, but not too hard.

this is a tough class to begin with, and if you're not too interested in it, it will be a drag no matter who you take it with. the tests aren't completely straight forward, but mostly - it's generally what the homework is on, but it seems like the test is made up of the harder homework problems made harder.

Pretty good prof. Laid back, no graded homework. Goes through lots of examples in class, homework time in class-will answer questions and help as much as he can. Not the greatest, but definitely not bad at all

compared to the other teacher's in the dep. he is the only one who actually knows what he is doing. He is big with examples. If you read the book at all before lecture, you will be fine. haven't opened up the book yet and will prolly end up with a B.

I don't think I would understand the material if I hadn't known most of it before going into his class. Doesn't really explain where each step in his problems comes from. Doesn't always understand what people ask him in class.
