I loved this class and Dr. Parker, but someone who cannot handle a lack of structure will not. The syllabus is really more of a vague idea of what you might cover. However, you will learn a lot. Also, it takes time for papers to be graded and returned.

Parker is an amazing director...but his teaching skills are different. He never sticks to any lesson plan and will rarely talk about anything relevant in class. "Flighty" is a gross understatement. His mind cannot stay on one subject (unless directing) for more than 20 sec. Very smart but has trouble teaching.

Dr. Parker is one of the most influential professors that I've ever had. He is whimsical, inspiring, and just downright delightful to listen to. I thoroughly enjoyed the classes that I took with him and continue to appreciate the wisdom that he bestowed upon me. Thank you!

I love Dr. Parker! His classes can be a little boring (mainly because his voice is so soothing), but you really do learn a lot and he is a terrific man. I highly reccomend doing shows with him as well--best director I've ever worked with.
