Personally, I suck at physics.. Decided to take it here over the summer and have it transfer to my school to avoid the workload this coming fall.. I didn't struggle as much as i thought i would, the old exams really help a lot!!

He has to be the most inconsistent professor I have ever met! It really should not be fair that as a bio major you only have one choice of who to take for physics because he is not recommended by me whatsoever! He doesn't teach, he spits out what he already knows. He needs to go do some research because teaching is not his strong point!

At least attendance isn't mandatory - I only went on days homework was due and tests, and I was STILL bored out of my mind. He entertains himself by doing problems at the board and rambling on and on and on. It's easier and more fun to teach yourself the material. Gah.

Had Dr. Grumbine for "It's Not Rocket Science"... best class I've ever taken! Usually core classes are a huge drag... but not this class. Beginning your day with rockets is always a good thing. Grumbine is the man!

He talks at you, not to you. His lectures are him basically entertaining himself at the board, and there's no classroom interaction at all. If he even just let the class answer the questions he asks instead of answering them himself, he'd be 1000 times better. :/

My grandma died and I had to miss Wednesday class. I told him and he made me turn in my homework early, then he accused me of copying off of someone who turned it in a day after me -and gave me a zero on the assignment. Avoid at all costs.

So unfair!! I once asked him in class if we were going to get a study guide for the final and he threw the book at me and said "study this" I did everything I could, tutor, homework, and just studying and I still did horrible! Dropped Physics 2 because half the class was failing!! DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!

Dr. Grumbine is def. the best Physics teacher that SVC has. He's timely, orderly, and efficient in getting the material covered. He is always available for outside help and he is actually fun to talk to outside of class

lectures had no impact on the test or HW material, but he was very helpful outside of class. I wouldn't recommend taking the class though if you can't devote a large amount of time to studying and seeing Grumbine outside of class. Overall though it was a very enlightening class once I figured out how to study for his tests and follow his lectures

He is one of the best physics teachers out there. The class is mighty difficult, but he is able to cover the material in an organized fashion that makes it easier (possible) to understand.

PH 111 was hard because he never seemed to teach what was on the tests. PH 112 seemed easier though. The homework is hardly ever like the tests. He is helpful outside of class. Be sure to read over your notes and make sure you understand everything in them it helps! Labs=quite easy & no lab reports!

Although the information itself wasn't that tough, his tests certainly were full of vague questions that only someone with a physics background would know. Started covering some of the material two days before our test and made it worth more than half of the test. Still, he can be a nice person.

I don't think he read the course catalog. The only pre-requisite for the class is algebra. Thank God I had physics and calc before, or else I'd be,even more lost than I already am. You don't learn, you memorize :-/
