I wish he did more teaching and less group work--other than that I think he's great. His class is hard but fair. Going to him outside of class helps a LOT. He's very blunt and his tests can be incredibly difficult, but if you study you'll do fine.

He is totally right when he says "follow the lab manual." Do this and you will get an A. Literally study is. He is a tough cookie but genuinely cares about the well being of his students. He's always willing to help if you ask. He's a slow grader & he follows the rubric completely. He's really friendly and I recommend taking him for gen chem 1 lab!

I had a lot of trouble with his teaching style. He mainly put us into groups and gave us worksheets that were supposed to teach the material to us (instead of him explaining it), then he would walk around and answer questions, but he didn't always answer clearly or at all a couple times. The material on the test did all come from class though.
