If you know how to draw, and you know how to draw well, you will love the class. He's a great professor, he gives good and construct criticism and really want you to improve on your skills. If you don't know how to draw well, you might struggle in this class as it is a lot of work and he can be a tough grader. Overall, good class.

If you are new to drawing and not very confident in your abilities, wait to take this class with someone else. Critiques can get very harsh, and he will call you out with questions like "Which drawing is the LEAST successful?". Your skills will get better, but the long and constant assignments drained me dry by the end of the quarter.

D.R. Is very passionate about design. He can tell whether or not you've worked hard on an assignment or not. So make sure you follow all the instructions, and to also draw what you see (this is really important). I would also say to draw big and to not leave that much negative space. Be prepared to pull allnighters.

LISTEN carefully to directions, go to class, MAKE AN EFFORT, don't rush your drawing, stay positive, DRAW WHAT YOU SEE not what you know! (time consuming) Because everyone's drawing skills are different, he is more of a drawing COACH/private tutor than a teacher- you must ASK HIM about any issues you have during class he will be extremely helpful!

Took this class over summer session 1 and it was incredibly time consuming. I was frequently pulling all nighters to complete my drawings. D.R. is caring and enthusiastic. He recognizes the hard work students put into their drawings.

This prof is absolutely terrible. He doesn't provide any advise on projects, and doesn't teach us at all. He just tells us how much our projects suck, and has favorite students that can get away with anything. He doesn't have faith in his students. He ruined drawing for me. His project ideas are really weird too; he has poor essay writing skills.

VERY difficult class; he puts out so much work for a 4 unit class with no idea that there are other classes students have to juggle. I thought I would enjoy his writing at least; but lo and behold his poetry readings were not good. Do not take.

Wagner is a very nice guy but can be intimidating. He doesn't give out very clear directions for his projects. Some projects were interesting and fun to do but others long and tedious. Professor Wagner is a very easy grader. As long as you try you will get a fairly good grade.

DR is really nice. I wouldn't recommend taking this in the summer, it's a TON of work, might be better spaced out in the quarter. Lots of elementary color and presentation techniques, and projects due every meeting practically. Make an effort in the class and he'll notice! Learn to use the x-acto knife well!

DR is seriously one of the best teachers at UCD. He is hilarious. He's really approachable and helpful it's hard to believe how much he's actually accomplished out there. This is a guy worth impressing, he knows like EVERYONE.

Seriously the most hilarious professor I've had here. He's incredibly funny and sarcastic and his class basically just consists of a midterm, essay, and a final. Incredibly straightforward, but you do have you read and pay attention in class to get a good grade because his tests do depend a lot on lecture.

He is HORRIBLE. Dont TAKE HIS CLASS if you can, he is unclear, unorganized, does not respond to e-mails, and does not have office hours. He also humiliate students infront of the whole class. Worse professor i ever had in UCD.
