I have had Dr. Wood for 4 classes and as a History Major, he has expanded my knowledge and abilities as a professional historian. Without him, I would not be the researcher or writer that I am today. Be prepared to write and read but I promise that you will learn. Do not take him if you want a blow off class, he is not the teacher for you.

You had a midterm, a final, 2 papers, and random quizzes (which are very easy as long as you go to class). He is a very fair grader. As long as you show that you try, he will give you an A. He often gives you quotes from different books for your papers so pay attention in class. Take notes on everything that he says and it will help you later

Didn't have a good experience. He rambles the entire class and most of the time it has nothing to do with what you're learning about and then he expects you to write the paper when you barely learned the material. There is no reasoning behind his grading process. Getting an A is literally impossible. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Prof Wood is great. I took this class in the summer and as long as you showed up and even halfheartedly wrote the required papers you passed. I got an A and never spent more than an hour a week on the class. No tests and 4 papers due in 5 weeks. 4 required books but they were really only used for essay citations.

One of the best professors in the history department. I have enjoyed his classes even though my area of interest is not Latin America; however, I learn so much from his assigned readings. Additionally, he has helped me tremendously with graduate school more so than my own advisor. He will make sure your succeed.

Each class seems to be another episode in listening to the man ramble for 45 minutes about whatever he decides to talk about that day. His lectures have only a tenuous connection to the subject matter, and his grading methods are simply atrocious. Unprofessional and unhelpful, be ready to fight a current of painful lectures and ruthless grading.

Easy B hard A in class and essays. Stresses clarity of an expert in essays making getting an A hard but there's no final just an easy powerpnt pres. Easiest ull get at the school of hardass teachers known as the University of Tulsa. This will be a breather before going back to impossible teachers.

I took this class to jump into a history minor, it was a discussion class so i can't really rate his lectures, but when he did speak in class it was a bit confusing at times. He is very helpful with assignments and seems very sincere about connecting with his students.

Dr.Wood unlike some of these people say is incredibly smart and covers several regions of the world from Cuba to Canada to yes Mexico. His lectures are a bit disjointed at times, but he will help you out whenever you need it. He is younger, hipper and yes cool. This does not make him a bad teacher. Does he cuss in class? Yes. So if you're a prude that doesn't live in the real world, don't take him. If you're Latin American and think he doesn't know anything, you're just wrong.

his lectures are completely random and not helpful at all,he doesn't respect his students and makes VERY inappropriate comments(i.e. student performance, derogative names)and curses a lot.He tries to be too funny and too laid back.He is completely unprofessional;not conducive environment to learning

Unprofessional, tries too hard to be hip and your buddy. He teaches Latin American history and only focuses on Mexico--where is the rest of it? Challenge him in class is you are Hispanic and watch him squirm.

He's what I expect college profs to be... realistic and helpful. He doesn't act like he's superior, but you can totally tell that he really knows his stuff. And compared to other TU profs, he's quite nice on the eyes, if you know what I mean
