I had Dr. Coltharp for Science Fiction FYE. He is pretty mellow and easy going. The class is pretty heavily discussion centered and he will call on you if you don't speak. He grades pretty tough. He tries to make class more fun by not lecturing much but then grades hard when he hasn't really taught what he wants in the writing. Wouldn't take again.

So I thought this class would be easy and accessible but he is so confusing and wants everything HIS WAY, he's super picky and annoying with assignments, wouldn't take this class again. Sorry.

This class was neither interesting nor extremely boring. Dr. Coltharp is very knowledgable about Shakespeare but he doesn't teach in a very exciting fashion. Just keep up with the plays and you'll be fine.

Class is boring he is obsessed with Shakespeare's folios and rushes over the plays. Very little indepth analysis of the plays. Harsh and somewhat erratic grader. I'm not taking anymore of his classes.

Lectures rarely deal with test material - he loves talking about history. However, if you know how to analyze literature, he'll love you. Tough grader but not very much work (2-3 papers.) I've taken him twice and am in his Shakespeare course for next semester.

Really into what he teaches but slows down class by requiring class participation from unwilling students. He'll shape up your writing. Easy to talk to, makes funny jokes about pop culture. I like all his classes, but take ones he's into, not generic ones
