Oh man... what to say about Watson... he really is a unique character. I don't agree with some of his beliefs but that doesn't mean I didn't learn from him. My passion is Old Testament so learning NT was a challenge, he made it fun. He's extremely knowledgeable on many different topics. Be ready to do a lot of work!

He is very knowledgeable and hilarious. All tests are short answer but if you read the book chapters and study, tests are a piece of cake. He gives a study guide that shows everything that will be on the test. He takes off points for spelling. Easy essays which are not graded on opinion but on grammar and structure. Don't miss many classes

Watson was the hardest professor I have ever had. I struggled to pass his class no matter how hard I studied, how much I read, how many times I wrote and rewrote the notes.. I passed BARELY. Study guides were nothing like the tests, and every question was short answer, so if you didn't know one answer, you were already out points.

Tests are way different than study guides. All short answer questions, no multiple choice. Only teaches in lectures , nothing else. Does not give extra credit.

Dr. Watson was a great professor. Really opened some doors for me in Christianity that I couldn't open myself. Tests are most of the grade and are quite tough since they're all short answer. Be prepared to study if you want an A. Do recommend him though if you want to learn more about the Bible.

Comment:

Duane is my favorite professor at Malone. He is funny, incredibly bright, and he cares about his students. All of our tests and quizzes are open book and open notes. All homework is reviewed as a class for credit rather than accuracy, and the class is a very community based class. Highly recommend him as a prof.

Dr. Watson is a very good prof. I particularly did well on his papers so I enjoyed writing them. There are not many exams which I like. He is a very wise man, but does have some false teaching. You may try to stand up for what you believe, he thinks only he is right and is not open to other opinions. On most things though, he is a very good prof.

HERESY!!! this man, although very well educated is a heretic and there is no other way to describe him. He tries to argue Scripture with scientific junk that is inconsistent with both Church Tradition and Scripture itself.

If you are not a Theology major prepare yourself for a world of pain. His tests are completely 100% short answer and essay style questions (over 50 of them). You absolutely need to study hard or you WILL fail. He really does know his stuff though and is actually quite entertaining.
