Decent guy, not too hard, cracks awkwardly unfunny jokes. Annoying right-wing "no-nonsense", cable-news-style ideologue. The definitive anti-intellectual who has contempt for most profs for analyzing a problem too much. If you like critical political theory with a left-wing bend, stay away, he will dismiss you as naive and grade you down.

Great Prof! Whoever said he should be teaching high school was retarded. Baker really knows his stuff; I found the class fascinating. He explains everything in a way that really makes you SEE it, plus, he's funny! There are no traditional exams, only take-home papers (which I loved). Oh yeah, and he's not a flaming hippie-liberal like most profs.

Baker is awesome! He is kind and understanding. Many people say not to take him because he will say that you cheated on a paper, but that is only because they most likely cheated on their papers! There is relatively no homework, just a few papers now and again.

Baker is by far the best professor at UMD, if you are looking for a fool who is undereducated, will contradict his own statements, lacks the basic understanding of how to teach a college level course, and is willing to give you a B even when you put forward no effort. Baker would be a great High School teacher, but at the college level he falls sh

Enoch Baker is a true intellectual for the common man with Bill Clinton like charm. Also, he is a fan of the band Tool, which is always an indication of a smart person. He really is a nice guy!

Baker is the best history prof on campus. Tells you right up front what is suspected. Anyone failed for plagerism probably deserved it. I don't need anymore American history for my minor I'm taking him again anyway. His lectures are spot on and most of the time hilarious if not gruesome, which makes it all the more interesting. Take his classes!

Anyone who complains about Baker is a moron. This guy is clear about what he wants from the get go. He grades on what he wants. Site your sources and no worries about plagerism. He's understanding and funny. Not sure that he's "hot" though. Take his classes, you'll enjoy him. Something tells me the rating before this is the one he failed.

A good lecturer, but is unclear on what he wants on tests. Does not want you to recall lectures but bring in outside material. He also unfairly failed a student for plaigerism. I think he actually looked for someone to do it to. I think he gets a joy out of the power of being a professor.

Baker is the best professor ever, he's funny and has great stories about death and maiming. So few professors can really teach with pizzazz, and he is one of them. He's really interesting, he grades fairly, and he's challenging. I would highly HIGHLY recommend him to anyone because he rocks. He should wear the hat all the time.

His class was interesting and fun. It was easy to take notes as long as you pay attention. The papers were graded fairly and he let you redue them for a better grade. Awesome

Too hard to take notes in his lectures, half of the things he says are not on the test and he grades it terribly. 25 people failed the first test so he curved to boost them to a D, I got a C+. The books for the term paper are boooring. I fall asleep after reading 2 pages, honestly. Take only if you're a history major or love this stuff.

I have Baker right now, and he has a personality from hell! He's funny and very interesting, but last week I didn't show up to class, i had a paper due that wasn't done, I wonder how that's gonna work. He seems pretty understanding, but there is too much reading and writing involved, but hey, it is an upper level class. So I guess it's expected!
