Professor Kroening's Heredity class was no walk in the park, but it's a good class nonetheless! He gives his students about 7 papers as well as 14 quizzes in the course of 8 weeks. Kroening puts a lot of emphasis on his discussions and in my opinion, that helps solidify the knowledge. I like Kroening's style and would gladly take his class again!

Incredibly nice teacher. Encouraging, putting in effort to reply quickly and help when needed. Don't just slide through this course, however. Submit thoughtful and thorough discussion pieces and answers to homework and labs, and you should do just fine. Also, study well for exams, and use Crash Course on YouTube for extra help.

doesn't provide study guides and seems to care more about grammar and capitalization errors than about making sure you understand concepts. Uses "smile and enjoy..." after each question asked. Do not doubt his intellect, however, there is a difference in wanting your student to understand concepts versus grading as harshly.

For an online and class and lab, the class itself takes up WAY TO MUCH time. The teacher tries to help with a questions section in the discussion, which did help. I find the grading was too harsh, as I lost a lot of points on every assignment for grammar when I was supposed to be learning Science, not English! Overall, would not recommend.

Amazing professor! We just had an exam on a difficult couple of chapters. He is allowing us to do test corrections and earn up to 40% back. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well. He always reminds his students of his office hours in case they need help or have questions. You are always aware of quizzes and exams.

Doesn't specifically explain directions, and when a student asks for clarity he says read the instructions and doesn't answer anything. Also you lose points for not referencing things that you learned in elementary school or common sense. The sources or references are never what he wants. Very unhelpful and picky.

I think I'm the only one who will ever say this, but I think Dubear is over-rated. I found him to be an average professor overall. He is an easy grader which is nice. He is enthusiastic about bio, and is very smart. However, lectures are long and boring. Maybe it's just me, but as a professor, I've had better....and worse.

Dubear is such an excellent professor! I will always recommend him. He is funny but a great teacher. I have learned so much from him. I honestly will say try to work your schedule around his classes so you can take one. You will not be disappointed!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Will miss him very much... makes Biology interesting and fun. I only took Bio 109 to get it out of the way for generals and fell in love with it... mostly because he is a great teacher and made it interesting and fun! He is understanding, funny, and brings up various important points about our environment and issues surrounding it in the present day. I wish he taught more of the classes I am required to take for my major.
