He is the worst professor I have ever had. He talks at us instead of actually teaching. He seems to not care about us or this job. He takes forever to grade something and get it back to you. Do not take a class with him. He acted like we were great at Java when none of us had any experience in it. If you have to take this class learn Java on Udemy.

(I took Computer Info. Systems) He's not that bad of a professor just kind of weird and fast. Lectures are boring but they're usually not mandatory however you should go because it makes assignments easier. He posts notes quizzes and tests online. When he demos labs he lets you record it on your phone (which gets you 100%'s on the labs).

Absolute terrible class. Would never recommend taking this class with Dwight Strong. Old man makes stupid jokes and does not explain anything very well. Expects you to be on his level of intelligence immediately.

Feels like he grades using a random number generator. Gave zero examples of coding in a programming class. I learned more Java from stack exchange than i did from dwight strong.

He's a fine teacher. The only problem I had with the class was that the videos he posted online were very low quality. I frequently couldn't read what was on the screen that he was recording.

Mr. Strong is the worst teacher I have ever had. His lectures were dry and boring, and he seemed to be very unorganized. During the lab portion of the class, when I asked for help, he was reluctant to answer my questions, and was very rude. It was apparent that he didn't care about teaching, and he came off as very unapproachable and lazy.

There weren't that many exams in this class but we did have a quiz at the end of each unit. Gives lab type assignments, goes through all the information fast and offers little to no help when it comes to completing the lab itself. Not helpful at all!

Unorganized, lots of homework (But it isn't hard if you take notes in class), and has an unclear grading criteria. However, this professor will explain assignments, and what you did wrong and how to improve, after the due date. Not terribly difficult, but if you fail to take notes in class and demos you'll probably not do well, especially on labs.

After reading Mr. Strong's reviews on here at the beginning of the semester, I was so scared to take him! But now, I've been in his class for a whole semester and these reviews just don't make sense! He is just your average guy. He is really smart, makes stupid jokes, and is a nice guy. He is extremely organized and a really good teacher.

Start of semester was easy but later when labs start it gets really hard. I went to lab and asked for help but he refused to help and just said to refer back to old labs for help. He is more willing to help the guys in class than the ladies! Go to all Lab demo days and record it! Take with someone else if you want an A!

At the beginning of this class, I had a good idea of what to do in word and excel. When he would lecture, his powerpoints were confusing. I would go to the labs and ask for help, and he was not willing to explain what to do. Since it was a gen ed, it should have been pretty easy, but it wasn't. Take a different professor if you want an A.

This can be an easy class if you use the power points for the online quizzes and study for the tests. I did NOT use the book at all, but you should read the chapters for the tests to better prepare. Go to class once a week when you start labs just to see how to do the labs, it really helps; write down the steps. But Strong does not help or have EC
