Comment:

Baker is an AMAZING professor! I have VERY different ideas than him politically HOWEVER I never felt uncomfortable in his class. He will give test hints throughout class so while its not mandatory I would recommend going. There are 3 things graded in class: 2 tests and a paper. Im glad i was able to take a class from him.

Comment:

I did not get anything from Dr. Baker's lectures that I did not already get out of the book. Was hoping for a more engaging class, rather than what was essentially an (almost word for word ) regurgitation of the textbook in power point form. Was also uncomfortable several times by abrasive or belittling comments he made to me or to the class.

Comment:

Although the class content was insteresting, I found myself often uncomfortable in Dr. Bakers class. He was belittling and called people out for their opinions and made me feel uncomfortable with how much he stated his opinions and then belittled people with different opinions. (Alternative medicine, etc) would not recommend.

Everyday Dr. Baker would lecture on the material, but he made sure to add in some jokes and stories here and there. Attendance is not mandatory, but to pass the class you must know the material because the tests are hard. Also, there are only 3 things in the grade book.

Dr. Baker is an awesome guy. Very friendly and helpful. You only get 3 grades for the whole semester, but he gives HUGE curves (my class got about 15% on our midterm). Class is not mandatory but definitely go. He gives away half of the questions on the exams if you just show up. The paper is tough and took a lot of work, but it was graded fairly.

Baker is a super entertaining and knowledgeable teacher. His lectures may put you to sleep but try your best to pay attention, because he gives out test questions doing them. He integrates Frontline Health videos into almost every chapter so that helps keep class entertaining. As long as you take notes and read the chapters your should do great.

Professor Baker made class interesting. He was intimidating at first but once you get to know him you can clearly see how much he cares and what a great depth of knowledge he has about healthcare.

Took this class over the summer and it was pretty dense. Dr. Baker was very straight forward with what he expected from the beginning. The tests were hard because he takes questions from the book authors. Very lenient with curving test grades! If you have questions, he will definitely clarify things and help you.

Dr. Baker is so funny, and very knowledgeable. He knows exactly his materials. His tests kind of hard, you need to study for it. He gives lots articles and videos these things will be on the exams. He gives hints about the exam question.

Dr. Baker was a very good professor, but it's a tough class. Never skip it because he gives you test hints during the lectures. The textbook is pretty useless. Questions on tests come from the powerpoints. The paper may not seem like much, but it will destroy your life if you procrastinate too long.

Dr. Baker is the only reason I actually came to class. The material was not something I was interested in at all, but he made it bearable because he really cares about what he's talking about. Go to class and you'll pass, he gives hints on the tests during lectures. Everything is from power point notes, I never opened the book. Great guy!

While Dr. Baker is a good professor according to academic standards, I found him very belittling and used derogatory names for a couple female students in the class with myself included. I hated this class and eventually stopped showing up to lecture so I wouldn't have to hear the remarks he makes.

He's very east coast. He teaches well and the class discussions can be fun when people participate. There's a lot of emails sent that have articles that end up on the tests. THANK GOD FOR THE CURVE!!!!! The paper subject changes and DO NOT delay on it.

Dr. Baker is one of my favorite teachers ever. Completely loved going to his class everyday. Read the textbook, start on paper early, get it edited by writing center, and you will love this class too.

Dr. Baker is absolutely hilarious and keeps his classroom really engaged and interested in the subject! Great teacher, and has great classroom discussions. He is rather loud and obnoxious though.
