Comment:

Lectures involved a lot of theory but if you were able to grasp the ideas and apply them on the homework, you were set for the exams. He's a funny guy and very lenient on grading. For homework, if you showed a little effort, you got full credit. On exams, a lot of partial credit given for even the fewest written numbers and equations on the paper.

Comment:

Lectures are fast and long, but he's always willing to go back and explain things if you missed it. He helps a lot by showing exactly what material will be covered on the test, and on the tests themselves, he's super lenient on the points. He's an awesome guy.

I am guessing if you have the book this class may make more sense. But If you just rely on watching the videos the homework won't make any sense. What they teach you in the videos half the time doesn't even come up in the homework.

Comment:

I took Professor Bock for online trigonometry as a prerequisite for physics. On orientation day he went over the entire syllabus and scheduling in great detail. I was nervous taking a math course online but he was always very fast to reply to my emails when I had questions. He allows notecards on his exams and the hw is basically the exams.

Comment:

I took an online course with professor Bock and it was fantastic. There is quite a bit of time between assignments and you know exactly what is due when. He was always available to answer questions and I never had to wait more then a few hours for a question to be answered. I would highly recommend him.

Cons: He lectures a lot and it's hard to follow He is really smart and the class is hard Pros: You don't have to buy the book IF you do the homework you WILL pass the test (fair grader) You'll always know exactly what you're going with prof Bock. Once you see the first test, you'll be ready for the others

I took Pre-Cal with Professor Bock and thought I was going to fail. There are no multiple choice tests or homework. You can use a notecard, which saved me. He curves tests and labs are pretty much a completion grade. If you really care about math and are a really hard working, I would recommend him. However, if you want an easy A class, look again.

Terrible class to take online. His tests and labs are completely different from the homework. Extremely tough class. Tests are not multiple choice. This class killed my gpa. Don't take him unless you're a math genius or you can teach yourself new and difficult material.

He is really tough guy if you want to not pass this class and fail go ahead and take with him. He only knows how to slove problem from book which he has it on his note pad and coppy it to the board. He test is not from what he talk about it in class. He lab are from Moon which he can not even solve the problem. Do not recommanded him. DO NOT TAKE.

This guy does not teach the material for the test. He only teaches theorems and does not give any clarification on how to approach the homework, which there is a lot of. Stay away from this guy unless you like teaching yourself at home.

Professor Bock should be teaching HIGHLY ADVANCED mathematics. He should NOT be teaching any Pre -Cal or anything that starts with PRE. His lectures are Very FAST- PACED and he DOES NOT solve application problem in class. I DON'T recommend him unless you are a VERY STRONG math student.

Nice guy but if you are not good in math or you're slow he is NOT the right professor for you. His tests are not multiple choice and expects you to show your work. I personally do not recommend him if you have trouble with math.

Trig Online. Learn it all on your own! The book had terrible videos and I often had to YouTube or Google how to work problems out. HWK done on WebAssign; three chances for each question. Test are done at the school testing centers through WebAssign; two chances for each question and one 3 x 5 hand written card allowed. The card saved me.

Tough teacher DO NOT take with him because you have to read your own. He does not teach at all he work the problem from the book all he does copy and paste by memorizing the problem. He think everybody knows everything. I would not recommended him. The worse teacher I ever had I got A on all my Calculus classes, with him not.

Comment:

A huge math enthusiast who knows his stuff backwards and forwards. I took his linear algebra class and it was very fast paced. Don't get behind, otherwise it'll be very hard to catch up. Do the homework because he grades it based on completion. Also, make sure you know how to do every single problem on the practice exams.
