Comment:

Grades a little hard, but not too bad. Seemed a bit sick of teaching, and somewhat grumpy. The class was more a history course than it was English; mostly about VIetnam. There are frequent quizzes on the weekly reading, so be sure to keep up! But unless you really love talking/learning about Vietnam, I'd say take this class from another teacher.

Grades pretty hard, boring, awkward pauses. You can easily pass the class if you put effort into your papers and keep up with reading for quizes. A lot of war content.

this guy is a total jerk. he has his favorites and grades vert harshly. He makes comments that are awkward and he cant stop talking about war crap! I am an A student in English. I NEVER got less then a 90 on a paper. In his class, i never got any higher then an 85. GPA crusher. run away!!!!!

He is the most incompetent teacher I have ever met! He expects too much in such a short time period. I know you get some teachers that you don't like and others that you can stand but I would not wish him on my worst enemy! He is not clear what he expects or what he wants in a paper, he sends you out in the wild and feeds you to a wolf pack!

Dr. Ruch is a very hard grader. He requires as a student of a college writing course that you know how to punctuate correctly. Dr. Ruch provides online means by which to practice and better your punctuation. Dr. Ruch was very good at pointing out pros and cons in your papers. Dr. Ruch is very dry, but does have a sense of humor.

The material in the class is interesting. The classes are mainly discussions of stories, poems etc. Dr. Ruch is a jerk though. He creates akward situations and pauses at odd times. He doesn't give feedback and seems to hate teaching. He grades VERY HARSHLY and seems to take a bias against certain students. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH ANOTHER TEACHER.
