Not a good teacher. Doesn't teach the material at all. He just rambles on about the history of math and gets completely off topic. Tests and homework are hard and if you want to pass prepare to spend all your time in the math lab getting taught everything you need to learn by a tutor. He should consider retiring soon.

Do not take this professor for great ideas of math..He is very hard and did not teach the class any of the material and expected us to teach it to ourselves, and then told us that the book did it the wrong way. Take a differant professor for great ideas of math because it's supposed to be easy, and he made it very hard.

Prof. Sandifer is a very charismatic guy who enjoys running. The HW he assigns is timely, however, dont assume because his HW is difficult his Exams will be. The exams are very much similar to the practices exams he post, SO DO THEM! and you need to go to class to learn the concepts or you will live at the math lab.

Homework is all online. Book is not needed and not worth buying. Chapters covered are online. You need a Course Compass ID. He is passionate about what he teaches and he is definitely smart and knows his stuff. He isn't the clearest teacher but the subject matter isn't too hard. Three tests and a final. Not a bad class overall.

Great guy! He knows his stuff very well. Expect at least 3 hours of homework for every class. If you do the hw conciously you'll be prepare for his tests and you'll pass the class with an A. He is willing to help you at all times. As a person he is very funny.

Very dedicated, always gives great notes, will answer questions and re-phrase them a million times until you understand. Learned most of my math knowledge from him. He's not intimidating, but rightly requires effort on students part...so lazy freshmen may not do well in his classes. I highly recommend!

WORST TEACHER.he was very bias b/c he let the upperclassmen get away w/a lot n gave them good grades. Talked to him about 3 or 4 times n he complained about me to me saying I was a hassle for him. If your quiet in his class, ur screwed; dont even approach him. I asked him wat I could do to do better and he only complained. Horrible teacher, ok guy.

He give Online Quiz every day which is okay, he like to said "good morning Math fans" NO one care about math 118. Test one avg was 65 and test two avg was 71.. Half the class drop the class. But he is nice person but he just not a good teacher.
