Cute little man with great lectures that are truly valuable to the course content. Some mandatory days but lectures are not. Somewhat strict about electronics but always seems to laugh about them going off when it comes down to it. Taken as a summer course, he made a two-hour, 7:30am class much less miserable!

Avoid taking 497 with this professor. Lectures are dull and the group paper at the end of the semester is ridiculously long. Plus the 2 tests are group crosswords but are extremely hard unless you have a photographic memory. What's nice is you don't even need to show up to this class besides on designated group days since he talks out of the book.

My top 3 profs. The capstone project is not tough, only time consuming. I ended up editing my groups paper (180 pages w/glossary and appendix). I spent 80+hrs on the paper myself. This is no fault of Ward, but make sure you force your group members to pull their own weight. If they don't, let Ward know via peer review and he will likely fail them.

I would definitely take this professor again. He keeps classes interesting by having you do group discussions, it's not just him lecturing the whole time. He's also pretty funny, and very helpful if you ask.

Prof. Ward will bend over backwards to help a student if they ask. He REALLY makes you pay attention in class, in a good way. He knows what he is doing and is a great human being...Take this class!

Probably one of the best professors in the state, with incredible background and insights. SCSU sucks nowadays because of its low-quality teachers, and guys like Ward should give seminars to other teachers about how to be a real educator.

Great Teacher, have much respect for him! Great class (be sure to get a good group, as 99% of class is based on group work.) Takes poor group member performance into consideration (unlike most all other professors). Projects are very useful for any HR concentration. If you pay attention in class, he points out vocab words that will be on test.

Ward is the best professor I've had at SCSU. He makes class enjoyable by joking with his students. He is very helpful and has great knowledge in the subject. His tests are easy because he lets you take them in groups of 5 and there is extra credit on them. Great professor, you will not regret taking him

Most Important about class is Group Evaluation. If you have bias people/poor students/rationalists in your group then your grade will definitely go down as professor grades you depending on group evaluation. In 2 tests, myself and other group mate did well and rest all spectators. But at the end we got the low grade it is becoz of the poor evaluati

Ward was my favorite professor at SCSU. He is incredibly smart (he's actually a member of MENSA) witty, helpful and talented. Overall an excellent professor who embodies what a great educator is, does and stands for. Work is primarily group based, slackers are weeded out with peer evaluations, one of my group members did fail, and the system is ver

Group tests with extra credit. Fair grader. Facilitates good discussion. Respects students and understands that sometimes school has to take a back seat to emergencies. Fun class atmosphere. Couldn't have asked for a better professor or man. He's great!

Class for the most part isn't too difficult. He grades kinda tough on the group projects. The two tests in the class are taken in your group so that is nice.

Be very careful with Dr Ward . In fact , the most important thing about his class is not class participation or attendance , but Peer evaluation . If you happen to be in a group where judgements are bias then you will screw yourself up especially if you are new to those students . So pick a group where you knew the members before ....Good advice !!

Tells you what you need to know, no BS with him. Read and take notes on what he talks about. Know the vocab!!! Group projects are fine as long as your group is decent... there IS a group evaluation at the end, and those are taken into consideration.

Dr. Ward is definitely a hero. He is a person who respects others and commands respect at the same time. His peer evaluations are the best part, becuause that is when the free-loaders actually realize their status. His peer evaluations are a great tool in squeezing the huice out of the lazy ones. Dr. Ward, you rock! Very helpful and very outgoing!
