Dr. Weston is a great lab TA to have for Reporting. He knows his stuff and is more than willing to help if you ask for it. Go to office hours, do all of your work and don't stress out too much. Later in the semester, be ready for a surprise live story - it'll suck, but he's understanding.

Dr. Weston really tried to help. He was a hard grader, and I felt like I wasn't going to get a good grade in reporting a few times throughout the semester, but I ended up with an A. He is sweet, and GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS if you want to pass. He confused me a bit with his explanations at times, but he was always there to help. Nice guy all around.

He has favorites sometimes. He's pretty helpful especially if you go to his office hours. He is willing to sit down and go over your papers with you so you learn what you did wrong. He's also sort of creepy at times during lectures.

I really didn't like Weston- while my grades were going up and down. Sometimes his comments are frustrating when you want help, but if you show that you care, he cares. Grading is tough, but it's reporting and everyone should know it's going to be hard. Turns out he's my adviser now too and I'm glad.

Reporting's a tough class, but Dr. Weston was a good instructor, provided you LISTEN to what he's saying. In my experience, he was one of the more helpful instructors at UF.

Reporting is hard no matter what, but the difference between the TA's is how much they are willing to help you. Weston is an old-fashioned type of guy. If you are polite/respectful then you will pass. I was intimidated at the beginning of the semester to ask for help but once I did I know that's the only reason why I passed.

Reporting is tough, but for the most part Weston is fair. If you see him in his office hours he'll do his best to help you out. He has a sarcastic sense of humor, which can come off as rude to some people, but I thought he was pretty funny. Overall a good teacher, but remember: No matter who your reporting teacher is, the class is HARD.

I hate to see some of the comments left about Dr. Weston...Yes his class is hard, but reporting is hard. If you're willing to ask for help, he's willing to give it. He allows you to do as many extra credit stories as you want to replace low grades. Go visit him during office hours! He's very nice and very willing to help you...GREAT PROFESSOR!!! :)

He does not give Extra Credit for getting published. He does let you turn in extra stories to replace bad grades, but you'll hardly ever have time to do that

Dr. Weston is a difficult teacher, but he makes you learn. I really enjoyed his personal stories and his lectures. He passed me even though my grade was BORDER line...and he still passed me!

Personally, I thought Weston was unreasonable when it came to grading stories. He offers extra credit if you get published (which is very nice.) Although, he would give me C's and D's on stories I got published in The Alligator. I don't understand how another editor can find a story to be of publishing quality and yet he still assigns D's?

It's sad to see Weston getting a bad rap! Getting put in his lab made passing 3101 possible. He has a 50 minimum on outside work and accepts as much extra credit as you can throw at him. Not every professor is this generous. He's a very tough grader, but he's always available to go over mistakes. He also responds to emails quickly.

HORRIBLE!!!! Does not give clear answers when asking for help. Says "i said that in class" when he doesn't. He seems nice on the first day but he's not at all. He's very unhelpful. Complete buttface. If you can help it don't take him!!

He's not all bad. I put little effort into this class and still managed a B. The inside assignments are super easy so there's no reason not to get As on them. As for the outside stories, make sure they are long because he hates short stories. He also hates events, try and find a topic to research instead of just going to speeches and stuff.

This man has a sick sense of humour and I love him for it. He's a tough grader, but he'll help you if you just ask. He appreciates the absurd and likes stories that have a bit of feature to them. Expect bad grades at first, but he's fantastic with the extra credit. He made 8:30 lab bearable, and he almost never keeps you the whole three hours.

Go to his office hours. He's helpful and very friendly. He knows what he's doing and can give you great tips. Its a tough class regardless of what TA you get but Weston offers extra credit and makes 3 hour labs bearable. Edit a million times. Expect Fs in the beginning. But take him, you'll be better for it.

First of all, I'll say I made an A in his lab, which is not at all easy to do. He is very picky about your story topics and when you have questions or need help, he kind of smiles and expects you to know what to do. He likes more featurey/people stories. Just get to know him, edit everything and be willing to devote your entire life to the class!

My best advice is get to know him! Go see him during office hours and talk to him during lab. He's very funny and helpful if you ask the right questions. Also, take advantage of his extra credit story opportunities. It brought my grade up a whole letter!
