He was a good teacher. A bit of a joker but he was geniune in trying to help those who wanted to pass the class. I think you guys are a bit too much believing he was teaching only for the world cup lol but he helps if you ask for it and if he sees you engaged he helps you even more to succeed in the class

Started out okay,however as it progressed he seemed distracted always talking about his problems,things not related to math. He took less time explaining the material and I started reading and learning from the book instead.Late constantly even on exams. He's not the worst but hes definitely not the best out there. Take someone else if u can.

Prof. Garcia is an awesome professor. Some of the students are obviously jaded but is likely because of their failure to adequately prepare. If you show an interest he is there for you 100%! He is funny and has a short tolerance for people who feel that they should be privileged just because. HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST MATH TEACHERS I HAD!

Horrible teacher! Always showed up late to class; 30 minutes late to class! Gives you a time limit on taking a test when I never have heard of a time limit on a math class. Told everyone that the reason he was teaching the class was because he needed money for the world cup & told us that only 2 people passing & that we needed to try harder.

If you're looking to take his math 26 class, dont bother. He's not fit to teach this class. Seems like a nice guy and great mathamatician, but he's just not the guy for this class. Likes to toot his own horn, spends most of his time trying to figure out his gadget, sloppy, tardy, and teaches what he feels like teaching. Just telling it like it is.

Terrible professor. Completely irresponsible, constantly tardy or absent (even on test days), openly admits that he is lazy and puts in little effort as possible to teaching. Doesn't care if you pass or fail. He did not fully understand the material he was teaching, yet thinks he is a genius. If he were a student in his own class, he would fail.

Great professor. The Good:Easy class,knows what he is doing, lots of sidetalk,lectures & treats you like a student. The Bad: not organize,grades aren't updated & doesn't go over exams. Drops an midterm, must take final, but counts if it helps. RECOMMENDATIONS: attend all online meetings (extra credit) & read other calculus books at library.

Good professor. Clear lectures. Prepares you for the exams and encourages you to bring in problems from other textbooks. He's got a funny side, might I suggest sitting in the front? Overall, good prof. If you study hard, you'll get an A.

He is very clear about regarding the material covered in the book throughout lectures. He is an extremely helpful teacher if you actually put the effort. Trust me he recognizes when you're putting in the effort and when you're not, so make sure you do. Other than that, do the homework, pay attention throughout the lecture, you'll pass.

After 2 full semesters with this guy, I can honestly say he's one of the best math teachers you can get at SMC. Dont take if u are not ready to work hard, get offended easily, or don't have a sense of humor. u will ruin it for others. Garcia may pretend like he doesn't care about students, but if u stick around, you'll see. he is really the best.

Garcia is DA MAN. such a fun, funny, sarcastic, interesting person. don't take him if you are sensitive or get offended easily. the guy's as sharp as it gets. Made math classes surprisingly fun to attend. math 7 isn't easy, but he makes it seem not that bad.

It's been 5 yrs since my last math class.Mr. Garcia made everything so simple.A bit unorganized & late but teaches and explains everything extremely well.If George Lopez & Carlos Mencia decided to teach math,this would be the result.Easily butthurt folks should avoid asking dumbass questions.You don't need the textbook,just mymathlab access! He's cool...What? You pay attention, you learn the material, you take the tests, and however hard you worked is how well you do. The guy is fun. And even if you are a math idiot, he still takes time out of class to show you how to work the problems...Only issue is that the tests only have 10 questions, so you don't have a huge margin of error.

Garcia is the easiest math Professor I've had at SMC. Unfortunately he's rather vain, and lazy when it comes to the class. He missed a number of days and goes off topic often in his lectures. We fell a chapter behind the other math 7 classes, never really finished the course material. If you have more math ahead of you the easy grade isn't worth it
