Definitely better than my previous math professors (not saying much since they were awful). His lectures actually kept me awake and you could actually understand his speaking and handwriting. I tried really hard but still got a C, but that's probably just because I'm fairly pathetic at math.

Comment:

Vector is a hard subject but his lectures helped me to understand it. He moves quickly through the first couple chapters but slows down during the harder stuff. He is not a researcher that is required to teach, but is a teacher who wants his students to succeed.

Worst professor I have ever had. Does not care about students at all, tests are hard, hw is hard and cannot teach at all. He complicates everything he tries to explain. Switch teachers immediately if you have him. Half of my class had to GRO it because he was so awful. One of the most rude and disrespectful people i have ever met.

His lectures are difficult to understand and he sometimes talks about things that are unrelated to the material he is supposed to be teaching. Vector calculus is a challenging subject and Alexander does not make it any easier.

He is an amazing teacher. He is always more than willing to help students if they just ask. He is the only professor I know who comes in on a Sunday to have a review for the final. His teaching method made me understand math in a way I never had before. I would recommend him to any student, he really does a great job.

He was the worse teacher I have ever had. I left every class completely confused. If it were not for the book I would have completely failed the test. He gave extra work once because no one asked questions during lecture. no one asked questions because no one knew what the hell he had just taught us.

He is a pretty tough teacher but he wants to see you succeed. If you ask for help while he is busy he is kinda short with you but he will help you out. I went into his office hours and he helped me with concepts I didn't understand. I am not doing too well in the class but he tries helping me through it and encourages me to keep going.

DO NOT TAKE HIM! I can honestly say I've never disliked a teacher more then Professor Alexander. From personal experience I have never done bad in a Math class until here. He is incredibly difficult to approch, the tests have nothing to do with what we cover in class. Whenever you go into office hours he is rude and makes you feel stupid.

Ed Alexander is a fantastic teacher. I now have a degree in Math...he kept me going. He even came in on weekends to help me. Get to know him personally..he has had an amazing life!!! Just a note, however... if you are lazy or don't take his class seriously expect him to be extremely hard and unforgiving. Willing to work? He will go above and beyond

He tries to teach the class from a geometric standpoint and then rolls into the algebra. That's great he wants us to think geometrically, but I just went through 12 yrs of public school training me not to think that way. He needs to find the happy medium. He needs to lead study groups also. It is very difficult to get your hands on him for help unless you catch him at office hours. If he dedicated more time after class to help with discussions, grades would improve.
