Shannon is a great guy with a very humorous attitude. He also is a Ramapo Alum. He grades very harshly and I got points taken off for using a source because he said "I randomly searched it up on google" which is not true. Always show up to class. If you are more than 10min late you will be marked absent. Do revisions to essays and you will pass.

Mixed feelings about Prof. Shannon. He is a good teacher and will give you Logan if things to think about. Theres a lot of reading and many assignments and he is a tough grader. He is very disorganized and you can not argue with him; he always wins. However he is very available and a kind person. Really funny too. You WILL learn a lot in his class

Though he was a bit disorganized this semester because of family issues, I loved him. He really cares about your growth as a student, and keeps things interesting with engaging lectures, humor, respect, and feedback so you can make revisions when needed.

I took him for reading in humanities, it is so unorganized, really hard grader, his assignments and feedback are so unclear, He makes you sit in groups every class for the whole class period. Seriously just avoid his class not worth it and I would have never taken him if I knew before hand. Gives false info too. don't bother arguing he always wins.

Ed Shannon was one of the best teachers I've ever had! I took his class from 6-9:30 pm and he still managed to give fun & interesting lectures. He's a reasonable grader and gives good feedback to help you improve. Even better, he's an amazing, hilarious person. I've had great conversations with him outside of class. Take him if you get the chance.

I loved him as a professor. I did not expect to like the class Literature of the Atlantic but he found a way to make the subject matter interesting. There were a few papers and he really expects high quality work for those. There are quite a few readings you have to do as well, and it is best if you read them, but I got away with not reading them

I recommend taking FYS class with him. He gives a lot of reading but only some do it because you only discuss half of it. He is a strange grader and cares about the format & grammar of the paper, yet says he says he cares more about ideas. Don't take this class if you don't like participating in class, because he grades heavily on it.

I had Shannon for both intro and also magazine workshop. He's funny, interesting and extremely helpful. Magazine workshop was pretty cool; he kind of stands back and lets the students take control of the class. I've learned a lot from this man and I hope to take another of his classes before I graduate!

BEST professor, he's really chill and interested in his students opinions. He also gives multiple opportunities for feed back and extra credit and rewriting. Participation is very important, but it's actually enjoyable to participate. He's always willing to meet up and discuss your papers and it's a fair amount of work, but it's totally worth it

Dr. Shannon is a great professor that cares very much about his students. He has you write one original question each day on the readings. His class is basically seminar style. You have daily questions, two papers, and a final. Overall the readings are interesting and his class is very fun.

He did extend himself to help and he will go above and beyond. He is a good professor, knows what he wants and expects a lot of his students to be more than just the slow up to class type. If you want to be a better writer take him.

He's one of my best prof at Ramapo. Readings are interesting. There's a lot but that's what you get for readings in humanities. He's always available, class isn'r boring at all, it was pretty fun. There are a few papers, but always can be rewritten and resubmitted

One of the best professors I've had here. I took this course as an elective and really enjoyed it. Sometimes he can be a little one-sided when it comes to grading, but he's always willing to help. If you show him a rough draft in advance, he'll tell you how to fix it. If you have any interest in lit. or film, this is the guy to take.

Professor Shannon is an interesting guy who knows his stuff. With all the extra credit and rewriting opportunities no person should do poorly. I took him for Intro to Lit and loved the class. He grades fairly and gives a lot of help. Pay attention in his class and do not fall asleep or else your grade will suffer.
