I took her for two classes. She teaches students how to really read and write. This is not a class for slackers. She really made a difference in my reading comprehension ability as well as in my writing ability. She can be condescending so don't get down about that.

Every class is the same -- review reading with questions that class discusses & in-class writings once a week. Oswald is nice, but doesn't like "dumb" questions. As long as you do your work & participate, she's nice to a point. Critical research paper & seeing a play (writing review paper) is required.

Easy A, just read what is assigned, write the papers, and it will be smooth sailing. You'd have to work hard to fail. Weekly in-class writings--very easy. Tests are not comprehensive and she gives study guide. Don't be late--she hates it. Great teacher--highly recommend!

Professor is very thorough and grading can be harsh however there was 80 pts of extra credit available. Total course is out of 1000 pts. Three tests including the final (not comprehensive). In class writing assignments once a week.

Lots of reading and writing. She gives some tough tests, and writing assignments, but she is a fair grader. Makes class interesting. Lots of really good discussions. Not an easy class though. Only take this one if you love literature.

A VERY nice lady and very intelligent. Class consists of group questions and discussions on the short stories and plays. I think there were 3 tests, 2 papers, both very easy. I enjoyed her class very much.

A lot of people don't like the deadlines that she gives, but if you have half a brain you'll remember the deadlines and meet them. Not a hard class at all. I loved her and the way she taugh the class. If you flunk with her it's your own fault.

Prof. Oswald is an awesome English professor. She uses a very traditional style and her tests and writing assignments are very fair. Lots of class discussions about the two novels, ten short stories, and poetry. Emphasis on the post-modern and literary devices, such as magical realism. 2 papers and 3 exams. Pretty easy A or B. (only FALL)

Judging from the composition of some of these ratings, those who have given negative reviews must not have learned much. I took this professor for both Comp 1 and Comp 2 and made an A both times, so it IS possible. I think she does a great job. If you are in college to learn you will learn from her. If you are in college for an easy A, good luck!

Mrs. Oswald is a teacher that is not at all easy. She makes it tough and diffult to pass her class. She will make it a challange for you. She does however let you make up work that you got wrong on. So if you want a challange shes that teacher and good luck.

Professor Oswald is an ok teacher. She is very opinionated, and is very biased about her answers. She is also very confusing with her directions and her teaching style is hard to follow. All in all she is an ok person, however I wouldn't take her for english again.

Not the easiest teacher, but once you learn her style it's not so bad, just 2 papers and 3 easy tests the whole semester, also gives out extra credit, pretty hard 2 fail her class, but also pretty hard 2 get a A too
