Prof. Cunfer will give you an insane amount of work with very quick deadlines, but she knows her stuff, you'll get a ton of experience, and if you're dedicated and hardworking (like you should be as a CD major) she'll love you. Highly recommended if you want to learn.

Professor Cunfer is probably one of the most dedicated profs in the program and is always there for the students. I find her critiques insightful and beneficial. She's someone who everyone should take and learn from atleast once.

Professor cunfer is all over the place. It's hard to get any clear cut direction from her. If she doesn't like your work, she will make you redo it and have no problem making you buy new supplies and waste hours of work. It is her way or it is wrong. Not the kind of art teacher I would want to learn from. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

I had Elaine for both Graphics 1 and Graphics 2, and plan on taking her for Greeting Card as well. She is one of my favorite professors at KU. Yes, she may be hard and stubborn at times, but she really knows her stuff. As long as you do ALL of your work (including research and development), and you make an attempt, she will love you.

Avoid this lady. As a student I was better than her at illustration and all she did was make baseless criticisms. Her art style is archaic and outdated. This flat tire needs to be replaced soon.

Baseless criticisms of work, little or no direction, cold demeanor, assignments and deadlines not realistic, condescending attitude, prefers student work to be what *she* wants it to be and not what the *student* wants. She knows her stuff, so she moves through things really fast. Most kids had trouble keeping up. She's more than willing to help outside of class, so remember that. More importantly, READ THE BOOK and her reviews. The written tests are very very detail oriented.

Elaine is tough and a stale cookie. I happened to be on her good side, but watched others suffer around me due to her attitude. Stay on her good side, and you're ok. As per teacher, she will press you to do your all, but doesn't agree with anything you do that she wouldn't think of herself. I liked her, but what others have written is valid.

She's tough, but gives you direction when you need it and credits you for your effort, especially if it's the first time you've tried a certain medium or technique. Stay on her good side and try hard, and she'll love you. Don't, and she won't. Just show that you're willing to try your best.

One of the best professors I ever had. Yeah she is very hard and has high expectations, but so does the world. Thats our major. If you can't handle it you should reconsider you major. I'd rather drink battery acid than deal with this dingo for another class. She's as erudite as an eraser. Who hired her? Acts uppity, as though she should be at NYU, but is stuck at KU. I'm not a slacker; just one who needs to be challenged by someone who has something to offer. Elaine offers nothing exceptional except attitude.
