Comment:

I had Gannon for lab/recitation and she's the embodiment of "eh". Nice lady and a fair grader, but she takes forever to do lab briefings and then judges you harshly when you make a mistake. I don't feel that recitation is necessary with her, because she basically reads the answer key out loud, but go anyway because there's a quiz weekly.

Comment:

Prof. Gannon is incredible. If you ask for help, you will get help. I went to her office hours every week to go over the next lab, or the last lab's report, or concepts from lecture or recitation. If I was confused about material, she would actually sit with me and go through tons of practice problems until I was confident. Really a lifesaver.

Dr. Elaine Gannon is the worst chemistry professor I have ever had. She is unhelpful, unclear, has a negative attitude towards her students, and refuses to answer students' questions. I have had two labs and two recitations with her, and I have never met someone who turned my profound love of chemistry into a strong hatred. If you have Gannon, run.

One of the least helpful teachers I have ever had. She is easily frustrated and makes the student feel like they are constantly doing poorly. Try to switch if you can. She's very unprofessional and it shows in her "teaching"

So positive. Truly cares about her students and wants us to do well. I have anxiety & lab was hard for me before I started going to her every Tuesday. She went through that week's lab with me each week so that I could better cope and she was always there to help during the lab, too. I went to her with lecture questions, too.

She only gets annoyed at your questions if you ask something she has already repeated at least 10 times. She's EXTREMELY clear, so pay attention and she won't get mad at you! She appreciates good questions and hard-working students :)

Take lab with Herrera or another teacher instead. She gets very frustrated with students when they ask questions. She grades very hard and gets annoyed when you don't understand something. She talks about chemistry as you already received your PhD. Avoid

Ms. Gannon is simply amazing! She was like our second mom and would come in for extra help sessions all the time to clarify the teaching Dr. Shive didn't do. I absolutely love her. Sweetest woman in the world.

At first she seemed tough and not very nice. But over the course of gen chem lab she grew on me. she was very helpful when you go in for office hours help. and during lab, she may take a while to explain things, but in the end it helps! she answers all questions well during lab and was a nice woman if your on her good side, if not, good luck.

I had her for Gen Chem 1 and 2 Lab/ Recitation. She can be nice if she's having a good day. She takes off too many points for small errors on write-ups and homework. She can be impatient and hard to understand, but she does seem to care about most students as long as they try to do well.

She definitely has a mastery of the course material, but the ways in which she sometimes introduces material in labs/recitation are not the best. She can be nice, but can be downright unpleasant if she's having a bad day. She grades fairly, but I sometimes had trouble understanding what she said in class.

this woman has absolutely no respect for students. some of the things she would say were extremely unprofessional, and it was very hard to believe that a professor could speak this way without getting fired. If you want to maintain your dignity, do NOT take any classes with her!!

Ms. Gannon seems nice at first, but when she's moody she can be very rude and not helpful. Her summaries of lab are good, but she often leaves out why you are doing what your doing. She grades a little on the easier side and does not give quizzes but I would suggest Dr. Smith over her. Overall not bad, but not as helpful of a lab/recitation prof.

She is not very nice, well she tries to be I think but she just ends up being really rude. She isnt as willing to help as she should be. She isnt a hard grader though so thats a good thing but she seems to not like me for some reason. She always seems to pick people out who make bad examples
