She's super nice and cares about her students. If you need more time to write a paper, she'll move the deadline for you. This class is easy if you read the books and watch the movies. It did not take a lot of work outside of class to maintain an A for this class.

I was in a Japanese popular Culture class for my First Year Seminar. She is a very involved teacher but often its hard to understand what she wants. Our assignments are often "watch something then write something about it" which makes it hard. she is easy to talk to how ever to help clear things up. She is very easy going however.

Plays favorites hardcore. Her grading of papers is very unclear, with comments such as "great job!" and hardly anything critical, but then you'll flip to the last page and there's a nice C glaring up at you. The class itself was enjoyable, however.

Horrible person in general. Lets her personal opinions of students over-shadow her professional duties as a professor. Get on her bad side, which sometimes is just her deciding she doesn't like you anymore, and you are ****ed. Wont even look me in the eyes anymore, especially when I need to ask a question related to being a Japanese major.

I always felt like she was trying to impress upon us how skilled she is in the language (since she's American), but I found it very annoying. She would speak very fast and overall I feel the Department's method of teaching to be ineffective. I previously studied German elsewhere and found that teacher's method to be superior to vocab regurgitation.

She was really nice the first semester i had her but then one morning she woke up and decided she didn't like me. From then on she has no time to help me when i have questions and seems to avoid me (ex: never returns emails)
