As I type this, it is Friday of finals week and we just received our final report assignment 2 days prior. 3/31 grades have been entered, and after confirming we weren't behind before she left for SPAIN, she sent emails with numbered "missing essays" 2. DAYS. AGO.

Yes, while she does leave the country for research purposes, the students and the class that students paid for should be at the top of her priorities. This is not the case at all. She didn't even bother to check her e-mails while away, when there was a problem with the materials that she was supposed to have delivered to us. flat out apathetic.

Elena is actually a wonderful teacher for any student who has a desire to make the most out of his education. It's true that she leaves the country but only in order to conduct research. She is readily available for consultation and, being a teacher, she is more than willing to help a student having trouble. Basically, if you try, you'll succeed.

Elena Benedicto is a wonderful teacher. She explains things very well and is very helpful. She makes you think... Put some effort, guys, linguistics is not easy! Learning is not only fun, you need to work as well.

Undoubtedly the worst teacher I've ever had. Quite possibly, the worst teacher I've ever seen. Unless you need her class to graduate this semester, don't take her class. If you can't avoid taking her class, start drinking. A lot.

Well, She is seriously one of the least dependable teachers I have had. She left the country to do research, and left us with no materials to go over, except a video series that never made it. Also, since she left the country, we had to cram our exams into the last three weeks of class...LAME!

BLAH! That is all I have to say. She knows her stuff, but not how to teach or relate to people. She also likes to poke fun of Americans, which is odd since she came here to work. I found her to be rude, unhelpful, and highly unorganized. She also seemed to go against the syllabus. :-(

TOUGH teacher, but very helpful if you are truly committed. when she discovered that the class didn't get the info, she took a survey and completely revamped the class with it. you will hate the work, but oddly, find yourself applying it later.
