I understand her methods, but they are far from reasonable. The exams questions are always multiple choice, however they almost never correlate with what's in the book or the discussion questions. You get one minute per question which feels like one millisecond. Do not advise taking her class especially in the summer.

Comment:

Dr. Gordon's class was one of the toughest yet rewarding classes I've ever taken. Do not take unless you're ready to put in work; not doing the assigned readings is not an option (she does daily quizzes and the entire class is a discussion of the same which makes attendance almost mandatory). Do take her if you're ready to learn and be inspired.

If you have taken and enjoyed Dr. Doleys and McKelvey you will be fine. Lots, lots, lots of reading. Everyday quizzes (4416). If you don't read, don't come to class. If you don't come to class, you fail. No study guides.

I would not recommend taking this class online with Professor Gordon. I've heard she's a great teacher but I didn't have that experience online. She was very distant, took a while to respond to emails, and didn't follow through with infodocuments that were requested. It sounds like taking her class on campus is a better experience.

I took her for POLS 1101 online and this has been by far my hardest course. She expects you to answer 40 questions in under 30 minutes and for every 30 seconds you take up after that, she deducts 2 points. If you are a slow test taker like me DO NOT take this course. She made an easy course into one of the hardest ones. Beware.

Do not take this class if you're not a law student or have no interest in law. In order to pass, I highly recommend writing down everything said in class discussions, taking lots of notes, and reading and re-reading the class readings in order to be prepared. There's a term paper, a midterm, and a final, and she gives daily questions.

Dr. Gordon is the best professor I have ever had at KSU. Her class is not easy and you work hard for your grade, but I have never learned so much in one semester. It is a tremendous amount of reading, but I found it all extremely interesting. I intend to take her for every class possible.

Great online class! I absolutely loved our role-play assignment and actually looked forward to getting on D2L and playing my political character! I definitely recommend you take her online class! For a required general education class she made it a lot of fun!

Professor Gordon is my absolute favorite professor. You work HARD in her class and a lot is expected from you, but those standards if you choose to adopt them HELP you ACE every other class you will ever take! I got an A in this class by reading and taking notes in sync with the syllabus. Do the work = A+

She is one of the hardest professor's I have ever had, and also the most amazing professors I have ever had. You have to work your ass off and it is well worth it. You know you will LEARN in her course. If you have no interest in Legal Studies is suggest not taking her. Make sure you stay on top of the readings.

If you're a Poli Sci-Legal Studies student, YOU MUST TAKE GORDON. Take her for everything that you can as it will pay off later. Great professor; You have to work hard, but you will learn a great deal. Class is a lot of fun, and she is among the most intelligent people you will find. I recommend taking her is you want to learn. If you are looking for an easy A, just do yourself a favor and drop out of college because you probably are not learning anything anyway..

Awesome professor! yes, you do have to read, and yes, you do have to work hard and learn in college... She is tough, but extremely fair. She gives you the material that you need to succeed, and if you are worthy of an A, you have to earn it. You will learn a lot in her class. As far as character: extremely nice and tolerant of all types of people.

It is nearly impossible to make a decent grade on her exams. ABSOLUTELY NONE of the test questions are in the study guides so you find yourself guessing on exams which is never good (especially if you actually studied). For an online professor it takes her ages to respon to emails. If you have other options PLEASE avoid taking her.

I honestly wouldn't suggest her as a professor. I took her class online and found it quite difficult to be successful because none of the questions on the study guide were ever on the actual test. It took her a while to reply to emails. She offered to connect me with a tutor but she never followed through with the offer. I was very disappointed.

This class requires a lot of work. But she tries to make it fun through class discussions and projects (Mock Trial and Supreme Court simulation). There is one paper:a brief or a court's decision. I learned a lot from this class. She is very nice and helpful. 2 exams. Read the books! They will help on the exam. The final: 2 out of 5 essay questions

Prof Gordon is not the person to take if you are looking for an easy A. However, if you want to learn in her class you will end up making an A. She is really nice and understanding. She actually helped me figure out my essay when I was applying for a prestigious internship, which I got!!

Only take her if you are taking her with mock trial. Then it is guaranteed you will slide with an A/B no matter what you actually do in this class. Otherwise, you will never be in her happy circle and your papers will be marked down for no reason. She keeps ranting about her unhappinnes and wants you to be miserable as well.
