Comment:

Dr. Kim is very passionate about what she teaches. There is a theme to the class and the readings are all related to the theme. There are discussions every day but rarely any graded homework. One big final paper, with practice paragraphs leading up to it. Grade depends heavily on paper, but she gives a lot of help and work time leading up to it.

Comment:

As far as World of Ideas professors go, Professor Kim is the best. Try and take her if you can! Her approach to the course makes it interesting. There's no tests, and only a few easy papers throughout the semester to keep up with what we learn about. Participation matters, but the lectures are interesting. A lot of your grade is your final paper.

She's very kind. Her lectures can be dry, but very knowledgeable about writing--I learned a lot! She's also very encouraging. She reached out to me out of nowhere and wanted to meet with me to make sure I stayed with the honor's program, because she thought I was capable and wanted me to succeed. Very clear and structured classes/assignments.

This course should be renamed English Literature, because we do not cover anything written by someone from Wales or Scotland. Also, working knowledge of the Christian religion and the Bible is necessary to understanding half the texts and discussions, as well as the belief system.

I originally wanted to drop this class because she randomly calls on people and it got annoying quick. I stuck with her and found her to be an amazing teacher. Her lessons are interesting regarding technology and how we overuse it. I would recommend her for sure.

I originally took this course with a different professor and re-took it with Professor Kim. Her class is way easier, she's a really sweet lady, required reading is minimal, and she does a great job teaching students how to think critically and write fluently.

English 105 - this was supposed to be an advanced class and it was a cake walk. though it wasn't hard, it was very interesting. There were no books we had to read during the class. The focus was technology and we had discussion daily on essays that we had to read. Easy class and a sweet lady

You have to read a lot of essays and answer questions about them, but you don't have to turn them in. Lots of classroom discussions, which I loved. One 7-page paper at the end of the semester and no formal final, but there are a few major tests that replace it. I loved her class.
