She's wonderful! Gives great feedback. The class is structured around one paper that's pretty grueling, but as long as you work in advance unlike me you should be fine. Awesome lectures, and she really cares about what students have to say. As long as you turn in hmwk before she grades them she won't mark them late thank god. DO YOUR READING!!!!!!!

Lots of reading, barely uses the text. Next week reading assignments are usually lectured either early or late. Very unorganized. Although I got a pretty good grade I think she grades unfairly. Don't expect positive feedback on your writing. She is a flexible instructor but personally I would never take her again.

Professor Kissling is a great lecturer. I took this class to satisfy a general ED requirement however ended up enjoying it. She likes lots of open discussion and is a fair grader. You will have an easier time if you participate. As a professor she is caring and patient with students. She welcomes various discussions and often lets student direct.

Professor Kissling is great. Her lectures arent boring and she is engaging. She is also super understanding so long as you keep open communication. The work load is totally manageable. Just go to class and turn in your work. You will get a good grade just fine.

Very knowledgable about topics, but grades harshly for seemingly no reason other than to not give students full credit. I did all the assignments, presentations & discussions and got below a 3.0 in the class overall, which has been the worst of all my grades within the year. If you're a strong feminist, take this class. Otherwise, refrain.

I would never take this class again. The class topic was interesting but her teaching method wasnt good. She has a "PhD." so you better make sure you arent wrong with an answer because she will call you out on it. I'm a student that normally gets 3.6+ but I got a C in her class..hmm... WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!..

the class topic was very interesting and could have been a fun class. she is a horrible teacher! she has a very strong opinion, thoughts, and ideas about things which is in no way a bad thing; until you disagree with her. then she becomes biased and will dock your grade for it! although the topic is interesting i suggest you never take a kissling

Dr Kissling was one my faves at EWU. I took all of her courses in CommStudies. The classes are not easy, but I still quote from our texts and our classroom conversations. I felt the material was a little 'man hater'ish but overall the material was well taught and relevant.
