Betsy is the nicest teacher I've ever had, and such a sweetheart. She is tough and super aloof, but she is passionate about the material and will go above and beyond to help you if you ask for it. Shes also really adorably funny and laughs at basically everything. Definitely not an easy class, but a great teacher.

Italian Fascism to Fashion. Hard material, and Betsy explained it mostly well. sometimes she goes too fast over hard concepts. Do the readings no matter what. they're long and if you get behind they are hard to make up. I only suggest for those with strong interest in material. really good class though and she is really nice and great! :)

Prof. Krause does as well of a job as she is able to explaining some really tough theory throughout this class. However, sometimes she confused me and didn't make herself clear. I relied on my TA a lot for understanding key concepts.

Lectures are dry, she seems to want to focus on her own research areas. Doesn't really clarify concepts well; I've had to rely on the TA to understand topics. The class is almost pure cultural anthro theory, not favorable to archaeologists, etc. But she is kinda cute!

so passionate about what she does and that really rubs off on the students! definatley my favorite class so far, though all the theory can be tough to grasp. I'm taking another (smaller)class with her next semester and maybe it's my little anthro nerd talking but I can't wait! :)

Great teaching style! She incorporates her research with the concepts she teaches. She definitely pushes her opinion on things but I prefer that than any obscure lecture. She somehow managed to be funny at 9:30 in the morning.

Comment:
Likes to talk more about herself than the concepts she's trying to teach. Says shes open to students' varying opinions, but she constantly tries to reinforce her own after she's heard them. Her slides don't have much information on them. She doesn't know how to explain something in her own words, she can only refer back to quoted material to do so.

Somewhat interesting but focuses too much on her own research areas. Not a good class for students with interest in sub-fields other than cultural anthro. Inconsistant in her responses to students.

This is the best anthro teacher Ive had (and Ive had a lot). She is funny and smart. Her readings are very interesting and I've found them useful in other areas of school outside anthro. Also, they make for great discussions with friends (especially "Fast Food Nation" and "Chicken"). She expects you to do the work each week- be prepaired! LUV HER

This prof talks mostly just to hear her own voice. She couldn't answer a question except by rereading (not even rewording) something she had said previously.

This lady should not be teaching a class that's required for all anthro majors. She looks down on any of us who don't focus on cultural Anthro. being someone who concentrates on Archeology, hving to take a class with this woman was maddening
