This is such a good class, I highly recommend it, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like writing. Lawson makes this class fun, interesting, and erases the intimidating part about writing. My favorite course I've taken here so far and I'm a science major- it was that good and worthwhile.

Very nice, very approachable, very good teacher. A lot of out of class room activities such as a trip to the movie theater and frequent visits to the coffee shop. Definatly recomend taking a class with her and you should probably get an A.

I also love Elizabeth Lawson. I had her for her first year seminar last semester, and she was awesome. She's a very nice woman, and she really tries to connect with the students. She can give a little too much work at times, but her comments are useful. She can be pretty funny sometimes too.

I've learned so much, and can't believe how much my writing has improved. A lot of work, though. More than what most prof. give--but it's worth it. Be prepared to read and write every night! She's wonderful outside class too--hooked me up with big people in my field and guided me toward it. Amazing!
