Absolutely the worst teacher in any subject I've ever had. Total agenda, flat out told me my /opinion/ was wrong and that I needed to reflect hers. Not joking. Terrible teacher, does not give constructive crit. Would not ever recommend going through this woman's hell. I couldn't finish her class she was so bad--I dropped it after 2 weeks.

I found McLagan to be very helpful and knowledgeable in this class. She was clear about the parameters of the essays we had to write and was available for Q&A for the "free time" of the class. and also in the learning lab. I learned a lot about the mechanics or writing from her and enjoyed her no nonsense style. Highly recommended.

The lady is so confusing she does not even grade her student paper she has the class peers grade your paper. ? What's up with that I never had that before.

Elizabeth is a very nice woman, but disorganized in conveying her thoughts. She is extremely unclear in lectures, hard to follow. Too much time in class to work on assignments, little passing on of information/instruction. Would rather learn in class than do homework.

I had a great time in this class. It will benefit to be willing to change your writing or explore new techniques and styles. You will read a lot of poetry, either from the book or fellow classmates. You turn in 5 of your own. Keep up on your journal, for it is a large part of your grade. Not too difficult, very few hard assignments.

this class taught me much more about how to critique poetry than it did on how to write it. I think we only actually wrote in class twice, and the prompts often left me uninspired. It seemed like elizabeth was mostly just at her day job without putting much effort into the class. I wish we had spent more time writing and less time reading the text

one of the best instructors pcc has to offer within their creative writing block. if you're open to her criticism it will do nothing but make your writing better.

Professor McLagen is pretty good. She gives you quite a lot of freedom in class to work on your writings. There were not a lot of lectures or notes to be taken. We didnt have to read a lot from the text book either. The oral argument was pretty fun. I recommend her.

This was the worst Professor I have had so far. She doesnt instruct you- she just degrades your work in front of the entire class- she is not helpful what so ever. I have went from A's in writing 115 120 121 to probably a F with this teacher. All she does is put people on blast in front of the class for her lack of teaching skills.

Elizabeth is smart and helpful. I learned a lot about poetry in this class. Much of the material was very dry, but luckily there's a lot of student interaction.

Criticized student for not knowing what was taught in class. The purpose should be that you are there to learn the information.

I wouldn't recommend taking Elizabeth for the four hour block, it's way too much time. She becomes very dry, by about, the second hour. I worked my rear off in her class and received a C. My paper were all B's, I was in class every day, and participated in class. Very shocked when I got the grade. On a positive note, she is very organized.
