Comment:

Very good! Would take class with again. Not as harsh of a grader as some reviews say, although not easy either. Will take time to talk with you outside of class. She's a nice person, too. Only problem is the format of the classes can get kind of boring, but maybe I just wasn't interested in the material enough.

Dr. Paddock is a very positive and helpful professor. If you take the time to ask her questions after class or set up an appointment time with her, she will help you. You can tell that she wants her students to succeed, but she also has high expectations. Sometimes the specifics of assignments or what she is looking for on an assignment is unclear.

The class was interesting, and she can explain key ideas reasonably well. She does hold you to higher standards, but does not explain what those standards are or how to reach them. When it comes to grading you will not know what she wants till the end of the semester, I met with her once a week for roughly 5-10 minutes and it barely helped.

Very hard class. Assignments are very confusing. She is not specific on what she wants. 3 take home test (which she grades very hard) and a 2 part 10 page paper. Attendance is not mandatory but go to class if you want a good grade. Your grade is based on if she likes you or not. Stay away from Paddock!! You will not be happy with the outcome

Paddock is an excellent teacher. She will hold you up to a higher academic standard than most professors, but you will learn a lot from the class. She is very good about cooperating with any assignments, so long as you are willing to set aside the time to discuss with her.

This professor is not a good professor to take. She is unclear about her standards and whenever you go and talk to her about your grade she gives very negative feed back. Her grading for papers is impossible and she seems to be understanding on the outside but really is not considerate at all. I would not take her again.

She is very difficult and unpredictable. She seems to be cooperative and understanding but then she grades based on her opinion. She will tell you that the essays are completely "your opinion" but will then take off 20 points because it wasn't what she was looking for. I would stay away from this professor.

Impossible. Her lectures always seem like a hippy going on and on. Very few fact based questions on exams- knowing the opinions of 40 different people does not give facts!

I took 3 classes with Dr. Paddock and in each class she presented a clear syllabus, encouraged interaction, and welcomed any questions. My first class with her, I did not score what I had hoped, but when I asked her expectations she explained very clearly. Her comments forced me to improve my writing style, which definitely helped for grad school.

Most of the work is related to reading novels, then discussing them in class. She is a very nice woman, but always agrees with everyone's point of view, and never takes control of her classroom. The writing assignments are usually vague and she isn't much help.

Worst class ever! Killed any ddesire to continue taking poli-sci classes. The woman made every class a living nightmare. Plus she's prone to extreme favoritism to only attractive male and female students who are bubbly and can remember section titles from the book, yet none of the content.

This is the second time I have had Dr. Paddock. I still think she's intelligent, helpful, and challenges her students because she wants to see them at their potential. People are ridiculous when they say she is not helpful , they are probably lazy and unwilling to ask for help from her. I plan on taking her again next semester too!

Elizabeth Paddock is an extremely in-depth professor. She is extremely well-informed and amazingly smart. I took this class because I am very interested in women's studies, and I came out of this class feeling 200% more passionate about the matter. Dr. Paddock is an incredible professor, though probably one of the hardest. But I'd do it all again!

Dr. Paddock is a very nice lady that is always willing to help you. Her class is challenging. You MUST do the homework in order to participate in in-class discussions. Her class is interesting, but she challenges you in order to help you be a better student!

Comment:

She is a terrible teacher. Her lectures are hard to follow and her tests are really difficult. She assigns too much work and grades incredibly hard on papers. She constantly licks her lips while talking and when I was in her class it drove me so crazy I couldn't concentrate.
