I dreaded taking Public Speaking my entire college career and finally took it senior year. Professor Peavey is one scary professor, but she is the best I ever had. She is a genius at public speaking, and she is incredibly fast and helpful responding to questions, even to e-mails the night before speeches are due. She made me a MUCH better speaker.

Professor Peavey is one in a million and anyone who takes her class should feel lucky to have had the chance!! She challenges you, but helps you to meet the challenge at the same time. If you ask for help she will go the distance to help you be successful. By far one of my most favorite professors at USM. Her class was amazing, informative, and fun

Hard for a public speaking class; attendance mandatory. Very individualized "lesson plan". She takes into account personal strengths, weaknesses, and abilities and steers you towards achieving a "personal lesson plan". You MUST participate i.e. have discourse with the professor over speech topic choices and development.

If you want to get your tuition money's worth and actually acquire skills that will help you in with your college career and future, and end feelingextremely rewardedthen take this class with Liz. However, if you're a little baby, afraid to be challenged, just want an A, and don't care about your future, then take someone else. IT'S THAT SIMPLE.

She's a nut, but knows her stuff. Did you know there is such a thing as "competitive public speaking"? She's been doing it for years, along with writing, acting, etc. Her class is not an easy A. You earn your grade by improvement over the semester. She is very hepful, but you must approach her and want to improve. Ask her advice-she loves it!

You guys are ididots! She is a WONDERFUL, HILARIOUS teacher... there isn't another 2 1/2 hour class I'd rather attend...bring a pillow? are you guys NUTS? She is so entertaining and she grades so fairly...she is also an amazing author! READ: OUTTA MY WAY. Yea, this class was hard but totally worth it!

Easy, she cares about her students. She is very easy to talk to and get along with. She does grade hard and does not just give you an A. I am not sure how I have done yet but if you make steady progress throughout the semester you probably won't be disappointed in your grade. This class is NOT for A only students bc it is hard to get one.

i agree w/ the other comments. she has heard all of the speeches b4 and if your info is wrong she down grades you for it. only take this class w/ her if u have to. she loves to hear herself talk so bring a pillow so u can nap.

Very biased. Dont do a speech that she doesnt like, or you wont do well in the class. She is a hippie/tree hugger, so dont do any speeches that refute her sensibilities. I got a b+, but was told by everyone that I deserved an A. Oh, and if you make her cry in your speech, you get an automatic A.

unique style, no books to buy, will teach you something
