Professor Stone is easily the most disorganized and frustrating professor I have ever had. I am warning you now she can't work technology to save her life and as her student that will haunt you because she puts all the exams on line. If you email her with questions you are not likley to get a response that actually answers any of your question.

This was a very difficult class. You never knew what to expect on the tests and then there were things on there that were not covered. I do not recommend her at all. Find either another professor or another course to take.

This is a very straightforward class and if you show up to lectures, participate, and take notes than there should be no reason for you not to get higher than a B. Her exams are online, and she gives the essay questions beforehand. My only gripe is the final exam, where she gives you 6 essays to write before finals week. Overall she is great.

Professor Stone was a pretty good professor and was willing to help and explain herself in office hours. However at times she did not make it clear exactly what she wanted in terms of the signifcance portions of her tests which were the main grading criteria for the course.

Mandatory attendance is never actually taken. In depth powerpoints are on blackboard. Attending class however would be best being that she does review certain key concepts. Tests (vocab + essay) are taken on blackboard and can be done ahead of time. Readings in textbooks aren't important. Just do the work and you'll do well.

One of my favorite profs here. Not sure why everyone thinks of her as a harsh grader, she is very fair. I think the reality is that most people our age are not great writers, and essay tests make up a big portion of the grade so if you're a bad writer you won't do well. She has so much awesome life experience and the class is so interesting!

Anyone who lashes out at this professor for them sucking at the class is just stupid and spoiled. She is really smart and knows her stuff. The class is really interesting and teaches how to look at scientific and technological developments in Big Picture perspective. As a Bio major I dont get alot of this stuff, it was great

She is one of the worst professors I have ever had. She makes it virtually impossible to know what she wants on the exams. I'm typically in the high 3's close to 4.0 for the semester and she destroyed my GPA. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

Do not take ANT 290 with her. Save yourself the headache of trying to figure out what she wants. She makes you get two books which are absolutely useless (she doesn't even bother using them in class or following the structure)Her tests are just too much work and her final is just ridiculous 6 essays due by the day of her final. she is just cocky.

Love this Lady! idk why shes not rated higher? Attendance is absolutely mandatory! you cover ALOT of information and if you miss classes or dont take good notes you're in trouble. But shes very passionate and helpful and her lectures are always entertaining. Midterms are essay based, so be prepared to write, but I'd definitely recommend her :)

Professor Stone is a brilliant instructor. In the beginning of the course she comes off as a bit intimidating but it sets the tone for the class as a serious learning environment. She is challeneging but if you show effort she is willing to help during office hours!

Female Indiana Jones! Best class ever, BUT... she lectures at a very fast pace and you must put in many hours of work to get an A. I couldn't have done it without my study group (we divided up the readings and list of terms so it was manageable for everyone). She is very fair handed, but you get sent to Qclass if you are stupid enough to cheat

Stepped in for Professor Youkhanna and did a wonderful job. Compiled great guest lecturers and was as open to her students as possible despite the fact that she was teaching 3 other classes. People who say she was unorganized forget that she stepped in on such short notice for prof. youkhanna. Clear, concise, and prepares you for the real world.

She comes off as a bit intimidating and somewhat scattered, but once you get involved in the class and visit her in office hours you learn she really cares to help students if they ask for it. I've had her for three courses and would highly recommend to those students who don't mind doing there work as it is expected at the college level in Arch.

This professor stepped in and did a miraculous job after the untimely death of professor Youkhanna. She chose interesting material and great guest lecturers for the class, assignments were straightforward and given way ahead of time. Take some notes in class as the powerpoints mostly have pictures or listen attentively and you'll do well.

A good class to take to fulfill DEC requirement. Gives you exams ahead of time to do on BlackBoard. All lectures are based off her PowerPoints, so you can always download them if you miss them. Do the exams ahead of time! Lectures aren't interesting though. You will sit in class and just listen to her talk.

This class was very formulaic. The material was well organized chronologically. All lectures powerpoints are posted and all exams are take home. She gives you the exam ahead of time. You really have to blow it off to not do well. The downside is that the class is rarely interesting. There's no student engagement and attendance is mandatory.

She is sooo boring. She put me to sleep all the time. I had no idea what she was talking about more than half the time. You really half to sit and write everything that she says, but its soo hard not to fall asleep. This one textbook saved my life for her exams, which are sooo annoying and long and the questions are so vague.
