Comment:

Prof Frisina basically created the PR department at Hofstra. She is so so knowledgeable and has a lot of connections. As long as you attend class regularly and participate so she knows who you are you will pass the class. If you have even the slightest interest in PR take her class.

This entire program would not be anything and fall apart without Frisina. Honestly the best professor in the entire program. She is a hardass, but she pushes you to your potential, and she is one of the few professors who want you to succeed. After this class, every other one should be a breeze.

She picks favorites. If you have the bad luck of not being a favorite, she will be rude, abrasive and condescending toward you. She offers NO helpful feedback or constructive criticisms and assigns grades on a whim. She does not tell you how to improve or why she took off points. Minimal discussion, monopolizes class with long and off topic rants.

Frisina is an amazing professor. She really knows what she's talking about since she created the entire PR professor at Hofstra. She's really clear when teaching, and you can tell she really cares about your understanding. Beware of her assignments though, she doesn't accept late work even if you weren't in class when she announced it.

Ellen Frisina is a Greek GODDESS! She is tough as far as expectations, but she is preparing her students for the real world. She has tons of connections and is SO willing to help her students get connected to internshipsjobs; she has so much experience and advice to share. Much respect and love for Frisina.

At first, I loved her nad thought she was a great teacher, but in the middle of the semester i was absent for a week with a legit excuse and I let her know ahead of time of my absence she became very disrespectful. She was rude and gave me a poor grade when prior to this I was getting an A. She picks her favorites for sure, so be careful.

Awesome professor. NO TEXTBOOK! Also no tests. The final is a final presentation and it doesn't take place during finals week which gives you one less class to worry about studying for. You do need to go to class. If you need help with anything she's more then willing to help you. She's Mama Bird for all the PR kids as she likes to say. Take her.

THE BEST! She tells you everything you need to know on the first day of class. If you come to class every day and on time, are willing to learn what she teaches you, and work hard on your projects, then you'll be just fine. She will only have a problem with you if you're not motivated, don't try or work hard. Frisina wants to see you succeed!

1st of all, don't buy the book. she TELLS you that you'll never use it. second of all, for your final project, INCLUDE AN EVENT. You won't get higher than a B unless your final project has an EVENT. third of all, NEVER use your cell phone in class. don't even look at it. fourth of all, it's a good class and i learned a lot! but she's a tough grader

If you come to class and hand everything in on time, and participate in class.... she will love you. if you miss a few classes even with legit excuses she will turn on you, from being your best friend, to being a real b-tch. She becomes rude in the way she speaks, and it comes off in her emails too. She ALWAYS goes off topic,so little gets learned.
