Professor Grigsby is everything you could ask for in a professor. She takes teaching seriously and provides the opportunities and materials necessary for student success. Very caring and competent. One of the best professors I've had the privilege of having.

Dr. Grigsby is the best professor I've ever had. Her class is tough, be prepared to record all the lectures. The class consists of three exams and optional email questions, so studying is a must. The content and lectures are so interesting and you can tell she really likes political theory. Definitely would take her upper-level theory class!

I'm going to be really honest here, her class structure was tough, only offering three tests for the entire semester. That being said I think Professor Grigsby is a very passionate and caring teacher. My suggestion to anyone taking the 260 Theory course is to record each lecture and play them back to answer her emailed questions.

Comment:

Best professor I have had in my time at UNM. Take good notes, and the tests will be easy. While not an easy class, it is easy to pass if you pay attention, BUT you must come to class. Grigsby cares about her students, and always pushes for them to do more/be more. She can connect you to so many resources if you ask her.

Amazing Professor! She is truly amazing and knows so much on the subject. However, be ready to read and take detailed notes! DO THE QUESTIONS she sends daily! Course grade is made up from 3 tests and a paper! The paper was 20 pages but was worth every moment. I got a C because of me, not the professor! Work hard and you will prosper.

Worst class! This teacher dose not answer questions or give good feedback. Just started for the spring 2017 term and half of the class including myself have dropped for a refund. Don't take this class if your willing to sacrifice your grades in your other classes. My advisor said many people have complained about this professor!

I'm awestruck by the amount of work she puts into her classes, and the passion she instills every lesson with is incredible. However, you MUST do the work - take solid notes. She cares and is more than willing to help, but you must be active - which she very much inspires you to be! Very rewarding class, amazing teacher, the hard work is worth it.

Prof. Girgsby is tough but taking her class is rewarding. Be prepared to read a lot and be active in class. She has given me so many opportunities and sparked my love for politics and political theory. Taking her challenging classes made me a better student in all of my classes. If you can Ace her class, you can Ace any class!

UNM senior! This has to be one of the worst classes I have taken. She dose not provide a clear understanding of the material. If you ask a question she dose not answer it, if anything makes it more confusing.

Prof. Grigsby is an amazing instructor. She is very smart, insightful, and caring. She is the smartest professor i know. Her class can be difficult but it is totally worth it. You learn a lot!

Prof. Grigsby is probably one of the sweetest professors I have ever had. She really seems to care about her students. There are 3 tests during the class (including the final). My only problem was that she was monotone and I found it difficult to pay attention some times, which came back to bite me.

Ellen is a really great teacher. She outlines what you need to know and read in email questions. These are very broad and evidence based questions, but if you read and do the questions you'll pass. Although I was barely in class, I would recommend not skipping her lecture. She engages her students, and is just good at teaching the material.

Dr. Grisby is a great, nice person. An intelligent, and diverse individual. But a terrible, terrible teacher. She is unclear at best, intentionally ambiguous at worst. She also is extremely narrow in what she's teaching and refuses to listen to arguments that either counter her points or applying the ideas to other areas. Take classes with others.

This teacher is not all she's cracked up to be. I was really excited to take her class because I heard great things about her. I ended up resenting her the whole semester. Many people told me that I wasn't doing well because shes a "hard" teacher, but work ethic was not my problem... Going to do everything I can to never take her class again.

Grisby fails to understand that not everyone in this world knows and understands political theory, she needs to step back and focus on the introduction of political theory. Facts are facts in most of her classes more than half the students drop prior to mid terms, thats not a good thing.

Dr. Grigsby is outstanding. She's brilliant and truly cares about her students. If you have any questions, then she is more than willing to talk with you. Very understanding and approachable. You have to devote a lot of time for her courses, but the amount of knowledge you receive is tremendous. I could sit and talk with Dr. Grigsby for hours.
