She is a very nice lady, but her class is horrible. There is a ridiculous amount of work. I've never spent so much time for one class before, and the grades I received were not even worth it. I got in the C region on many of the major projects, and those were some of the best grades in the class. The grades are not worth the effort.

RUN! Honestly, the worst class I have ever taken! All we did was read children's books, yet had a TON of work due. No one ever knew when work was due or exactly what the assignment was. My advisor even told me what a poor prof. she is. Nice lady, but tuition is too expensive not to learn anything.

She gives a lot of work and a lot of additional materials. She puts together a specialized textbook each semester, which is expensive and rarely can be sold back. She is quite unclear with her expectations on assignments, but she definitely knows what she's talking about and can be a great source of information if you pry it out of her.

She recommends great reading material for classrooms. She is a nice lady but there is a ton, ton of work due. It can be challenging if you don't manage your time wisely. 4 book reviews + 1 article review due weekly. There are papers, centers & reading lesson, reading record write-up, etc. Go by the rubric instructions for papers and you'll do fine.

Worst Teacher I have ever had!..if you can take this with someone else save yourself the problems and tons of work. She spends each class more or less reading children's books to the class. She has at least 5 pages of writing due every week, and sometimes much much more. She teaches nothing useful and expects you to just know everything!

She's nuts, but is extremely knowledgable in Education and Literature. Make sure you PROOF READ your papers a lot, as she used to be an English teacher. The final paper takes FOREVER, but the knowledge gained from it is worth it. She is a tough grader, no doubt. She is quite random and loves to share her favorite Children's books with the class. =)

We didn't have a final exam-just a huge final paper. She talked forever about children's books and I don't really feel that I learned a lot from her. You really learn from her only if you go in and talk to her or bring up something in class. She is a tough grader and kinda crazy.

I thought she was nice at first but then I realized she picks favorites. Her last test takes a lifetime to do and I had her for the summer. Lots and lots of work. Not helpful after class. Told me I was doing great, got a B+ on final and an A on final project, all C's and above papers and gave me a D for the class. Will NOT recommend her to anyone.

Ellen has a lot of knowledge to pass on if you pick her brain. Her class is engaging and goes by fast when you participate. She does spend a lot of time going over childrens books that gets old after a while. She does send too many emails and I don't think I read any of them, so....

Eh... i don't know. She gave one test and that was the final and it was absolutely rediculous even though you could use notes and your book. She sent like 7 emails a day. I didn't learn really anything at all. I'd say take this course with someone else thats more organized and you'll actually learn something from.

talked all semester about children's books but when the time came for final exam started to cram us with review questions that were hard and we didn't learn in class. Sends WAY TOO MANY EMAILS!!!! Block her if you can. Too annoying and wastes your time.

The only problem with Jampole (if this is a problem for you) is she goes over children's books almost every class. I found this helpful...but I know that this made other students quite bored. I say she is great and people should consider taking her

She's a nice lady, but a nut case! She talks about her kids and her mom all the time. She goes off on tangents, so you never know what is notes or just her babbling. She never mentions when anything is do, so pay attention to your syallabus. The books she reads in class are good.very unorganized!

While it's true her class can be boring at times, Dr. Jampole is a wonderful lady with extensive knowledge about what she's teaching. If you do the reading assignments, the massive 300 point test will be easy. Lots of group work in this class (but lots of it can be done in class).

She is a wonderful woman, but a TERRIBLE teacher. She doesn't teach, she reads children's books all class long!! I hated her class and wouldn't recommend taking her unless you like to guess on tests because she doesn't teach ANYTHING.

Complete waste of time. All she did was read children's books to you. Did not go over assignments, expected you to figure it out on your own. Waits until the end of the semester to have projects due. Major test worth 300 points, need to study ahead of time. Nice person, bad professor.

Jampole is a great teacher who lends some much needed perspective to the TMB scene. She seems able to keep her political views out of her education courses (unlike some professors who enjoy a captive audience to push their liberal viewpoints)
