Comment:

Dr. Staurowsky is simply an amazing professor. While her classes are challenging, the information being taught is extremely valuable. Aside from being a brilliant professor, she is also a wonderful person who is always willing to help students out in any possible way.

Comment:

Staurowsky's a nice person, but some of her lectures, especially late in the semester, were the most liberal-leaning ones I've ever had at IC. Conflict theory is repetitive, and the busy work gets really annoying. She knows her stuff, but the way she goes about it is far from optimal.

The best prof. I have had so far at IC. She knows her stuff. She is kind and understanding if you have problems in the class, but at the same time expects students to really try their best. Students are lucky to have a prof. like her.

Comment:

Staurowsky's a really good professor. Sneaks her opinions into lectures sometimes, but still effective. Tests are hard though- they have a take home-essay, another essay on the test, a short answer "essay" and T/F that you have to say why are true or false. One 10 page paper is the big assignment for the semester. Not an easy A, but a good teacher.

You will learn a lot from her and she does welcome a variety of opinions. With that stated, her teachings are slanted to her personal opinions. If she quotes the opposing side, she only gives a weak source to back it up (thus really just mocking it). Biased, but I did enjoy her classes.

Dr.S is one of the best teachers I've had at Ithaca. She is an amazing woman, and she really forces her students to adress key sport issues. If you have any interest in sport, any major, I would definately suggest taking one of her classes. If she asked me to marry her I'd have a lot of thinking to do. . . haha

Dr. S is by far the most thorough and educated professor I have encountered. Most of the persons who don't like her are ignorant jocks; and believe me there are many in the department. She cares about learning, and class is exceedingly interesting. Highly recommend.

I dont recomend gender issues if you dont have to take it. SOcial aspects is much better. She proved to be completely unhlepful during this class, and only presents one side to everything.

DrS can get very irritating in and out of class. A lot of people love her but there are a bunch of us who don't think she is so great. Chances are you will like her and her class, but she is definitely not for everyone.
