Comment:

Some people might get turned off by the weekly quizzes, but they're never very difficult and they don't count a whole lot in the long run. Prof. Wenk explains things very clearly and slowly, which sucks when you already know how to program, but is great for the people who are completely new to the subject. Pretty good teacher, not bad exams.

She was great! Her lectures you shouldn't miss and there is a lot of lab work but she grades fairly and the class wasn't too hard. Would definitely recommend her to everyone.

I was nervous about my first CMPSC class but I discovered that I am actually good at it. Quizzes every Tues but they are on the previous week's lecture so go to class. The projects are hard but she is very helpful when you ask a lot of questions. Pay attention in class and do the projects as soon as she hands them out and you'll be golden

Great course, Emily is very knowledgeable. Throughout the course you learn about interaction design and complete two projects, It was Fun and you apply a lot. Grade is based on projects(2), quizzes (9-10), and exams (2). If you are having trouble with any of the material, she is very approachable and easy to talk to. Highly Recommend!

Really enjoyed this course. She is a good professor, class usually went smoothly. Most of the classes involve power-points and hands on C++ programming exercises. The Grade is based on announced quizzes, tests, in-class excercises, and 4 written programs. I recommend taking her course.

she reads directly from the notes on angel - word for word. knows what she's talking about, but not a great teacher. she's got a real arbitrary grading scale as well. the program runs - so why are you taking points off because i capitolized a word?

Very OK teacher...seems to be baffled by students questions at times. Class moves so slowly because you spend to much time on the same material, could have moved literally twice as fast and been fine. Very, very boring although some of the projects are challenging enough to to provoke some thought. Textbook for this class is utterly useless, also.

She has a good enough understanding of the material she teaches, and she's very clear about what she discusses in class, but the lectures are soooo boring. You can get an A on the tests and projects if you know how she's gonna grade them but it will likely take some trial and error at first.

Not beyond amazing, but definitely puts things in front of you at a pace you can understand it, gives you time, and helps with your difficulties--but ungentle when you do make mistakes--because the computer would be, I guess.

Covers material as if you should know it already. Studying won't do you much good for tests because the questions are like nothing you've ever seen. She's very helpful with the projects and labs, but way too obsessed with pseudocode. On later projects, she nitpicks and it's impossible to get a 100%. Prepare to argue for every point deducted.

I felt she could of done a better job teaching SQL, more hands on and less lecture time, because of so much lecture it made class boring sometimes, and didn't help me to learn SQL as good as I could of had it been hands on. Overall a decent teacher.

She is a good teacher, the classes are a little boreing at times. Her assignments are easy and all you have to do to pass the class is to put your time in. You get out what you put in!
