Very difficult teacher. He lectures directly from notes that he prepared a couple semesters ago and offers no new insight on the material. Just to complete the homework that he assigns each week, you have to sit in his office hours practically every day. Don't take his Applied Mathematics class unless you are really bored and have no other classes.

No! No No NO! Avoid this man at all costs. He doesn't care about anyone. All he does is copy word for word his notes( that you can find online) on a projector and doesn't take time to explain ANYTHING! Think you can find help at office hours? WRONG. He just sits there and doesn't give you any hints on how to do a problem. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Intro to Applied Math was very hard. The problems were hard, the lectures were very, very fast paced and the concepts were sometimes very abstract. I worked my but off and will probably not receive higher than a B. However, he is extremely knowledgeable, extremely enthusiastic, and extremely helpful during office hours.

Extremely tedious and learned next to nothing; class consists of writing down pages of notes which are taken straight from his book. Then you re-copy sections BY HAND in preparation for exams which he limits to the front of a paper per section. You write a 300+ line essay about a math subject. There are 2 essays if you take the grad section. Avoid.

The book is only for homework problems.. not to be referenced for anything else. If you need to know how to do the problem and the notes that he gives you arent enough then YouTube it. The overall material is easy to understand but the way he teaches it isn't. You take different, but very similar tests at the end of the term to replace any bad ones

Enrique is old school. He is a brilliant mathematician. He teaches in an old school way and its hard. If you are not up to the challenge then take all the other stat classes here at UML and I guarantee you wont learn as much as I did in this class. Great guy take advantage of his office hours. Save exams for the final. Get the book. Good Luck!!!!

It is a HARD class. But if you show up, take TONS of notes, ask questions, and use his office hours, you will not only pass the class with a good grade, you will ENJOY it. Prof. Gonzales does have an accent, and so do I. He is a brilliant mathematician with a sense of humor that will blow you away. And it is TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM ANYTHING at UML.

Intro to stats class was very difficult. I sat in his office numerous times for hours at a time and only achieved 2 HW problems each time. Doesn't show you how to approach problems. There is NO final you end up retaking the same 3 tests from semester. Study those prepare for final attempt. I went from a 59 to 91 average overnight!! Goodluck on HW

Goes incredibly fast, Went to him for help, and all he did was yell. All he does in class is copy notes from a note package on the board, instead of teaching how to do it. So as a result, you have to teach yourself statistics. If you ask for help in class, directs you to the textbook.

All Prof. Gonzalez did was read pre-made notes verbatim. Every single class. That's all. He gave three pre-made exams. How is this teaching?

Taking his class may have been the biggest academic mistake I have ever made, and I'm working on a second bachelor's degree (so I've taken a lot of college classes). Don't sign up for this class if you have many other classes/commitments - if you want to do well, studying for his tests/doing the homework will be time consuming.

Do not take his class for intro to stats. It's a dull class. Could not keep my eyes open. Speaks too fast. Hard accent to pick up sometimes. The only benefit is attendance is not mandatory, but if you do not go you will probably fail. My class started with about 30 people and there were less than 10 by November. Then I withdrew.

Enrique would be a much better teacher if he actually explained what he was doing. He gives us all the notes for the whole semester at the very beginning, and just copies the notes word for word on the projector. No explanation at all. Attendance is not mandatory so I really don't know why I even show up. His office hours are somewhat helpful.

At the beginning I was certain I would fail and told the prof I was having difficulty. I was willing to meet him during office hours and he sat with me until I recieved 100% on homework, he's funny out of class and overall wonderful man, if you are willing to meet him after class, it's worth it! He even let me take the final after missing it!

This class is a joke. He lets you retake all of the tests instead of a final. So show up and take the tests, get the answers to them. Then ace them when you retake them. He makes everything seem way to complicated. Intro to stats is easy.

Class was a bit difficult. You have to attend class take notes, in order to understand the material if not you will fail the course. The textbook is highly recommended. He is really a helpful and nice professor he has a flexible schedule so if you need extra help he will provide it.
