Shes nice but the worst lecture teacher Ive ever had. Talks the entire class explaining the most basic aspects of the material, and as far as everything else you have to teach yourself. Take a different teacher.

Comment:

I understand other student's frustrations. However, a career in finance demands a strong work ethic, long hours, and the ability to analyze problems and solve them. Dr. Guo may not be the best teacher, but she definitely sets the tone for hard work. She does likes to argue... I got an A in the course. If you can't pass Guo, you gotta go.

She is an embarrassment to Millersville University. She is impossible to understand and not just because of her heavy accent. She doesn't explain anything. If you ask a question she will tell you to just do your best. Do anything you can to avoid her, which is almost impossible for finance majors.

Dr. Guo is a horrible professor and it's a shame she is the only upper level finance professor for many courses at Millersville. Her lectures are mandatory but you will learn nothing from them. If you ask any question she will just insult you and say to read the textbook. I would say don't take her but odds are you have to. Good luck

After reading reviews I decided to chance it and take a class with her. Worst decision EVER. While she is a smart women, she gives you meaningless lectures during class (little to none of that is on her tests/quizzes) she expects you to learn for yourself outside of class. She also makes you feel stupid for asking question. Also her English is bad

I only go to her class for the attendance points, other than that I have to teach myself everything outside of class because I don't understand anything she is ever talking about. She makes you memorize every single formula for the midterm and final. MU should really consider a new prof for upper level finance courses.

I have never seen a professor going out of their way to make a class extremely hard. If you are a B student or C student don't take her class. If you ignore the rates you see on her rate my professor and take her you will just waste your money. Good Luck to those who want to take a chance like me because I didn't make it.

Guo is a nice person who knows the topic very well. However, the way she teaches it is very hard to understand. She moves very quickly and gives pop quizzes often. If you aren't able to keep up, you will fail the quizzes. The test are also hard as there is a lot of information on it and you have to memorize all the formulas. Good luck if you takeit

AVOID! She is very hard to understand and sometimes you'll have no clue where she's trying to go with a sentence. Do not answer questions in class because she will stare at you and make you uncomfortable. She constantly will tell the class we are unprepared and lousy. Show all work on exams, she takes off points even if you have the right answer.

This professor is intelligent and knows the subject matter fairly well, however she possesses no ability whatsoever to convey this effectively to students. She is extremely difficult to understand, which is very distracting when trying to pay attention to difficult subject matter. I would not take a class again with this professor.

Straight out of China. Can barely tell what she was saying/writing. Does not like when you ask her questions and will make you very uncomfortable when you do. Thank god I had the statistics basics down or I would have failed. Taught myself with the text and got a B.

Speaks/spells at a fifth grade level. Extremely condescending, unhelpful, miserable in/out of class. Insurmountable expectations, likelihood of failure high. Had class go from 35 to 10 in first two days. 7 out of 10 failed. Teaches from powerpoint, but expects much more from you. Awful human being/teacher. Avoid at all costs!

By far the worst prof I have ever had. Ask for help & she says she already taught you/just do hw. Terrible English. Went to every class, did all hw, well on all assignments, asked for help, studied & she failed me. Now can't graduate. She's not teaching this anymore, prob bc of all of the complaints from students. Horrible professor and person.
