Course is extremely helpful; strongly recommend all math-majors to take it asap. Prof is very nice and helpful, and lectures are fair. Tests ARE difficult, but the good thing about that is the curve is therefore low.

Professor Milton is very helpful. Although almost everyone is failing the midterms because they are hard, but he cares only about the final, so if you do good on the final you will pass the class.

Interesting guy. He likes to see progress so don't bomb the final. Got a C on the first midterm, a B- on the second, and an A on the final and got an A in the class. Give him feedback! Everyone complained about proofs and definitions on the midterms so he took them off the final which made it an easy A.

Calculus was one of my favorite classes until I got Milton. Go on tangents from other courses and tests you on definitions from book when hw is on actual math problems. I ended up with an A in the class but I highly recommend getting another professor if you can.

He is not the most exciting teacher, but he does go over the material covered in the exams; most people don't pay attention or don't go to class. He's difficult, but fair. I liked him, even though I didn't go to class often, and I pulled an A+ in the class.

And he kinda speaks like him...very unclear, and his lectures and homework are entirely different from what is on the tests...i couldn't have studied more for the final because it was all like based on application and background info. This class reminded me of why I hate calculus. The lectures were hard to understand because the professor jumps around the classroom and his handwriting is very hard to decipher. The exams were ridiculous, some were very similar to hw problems, but he also includes extremely hard problems. Avoid if you can or if you really love theories of calculus

umm, try to memorize the formal def in the book, because they will be on the test. sometimes he is good at explaining things, but other times he can confuse u. i thought he was confusing until i got the discussions and the TA is more confusing, i dont how but the TA made derivitives very complicated. O.O

He's very into the abstract and class can be interesting, but then you get into the test and have no idea what's going on. Lectures are very difficult to follow. Handwriting is awful. His lectures make next to no sense. He also runs around while lecturing so it's hard to concentrate on what he's actually saying. Tests on definitions and theorems. Lecture rarely helps with hw. I got an A in both 21A and B and worked my butt off to get a C+ in this class...

I'll admit that his lectures aren't that clear. You gotta use the book. You'll probablly feel like there's no way to get a decent grade in his class after the first midterm, but he puts a lot of emphasis on your progress in the class when deciding final grades. Basically, you'll get what you put into the class.

Milton is not a good lecturer. The text book is clearer. plus he has horrible handwriting and his thoughts don't flow very well. it's really easy to be really lost in his class. Take prof. Strohmer instead for 21 C
