By far the most laid back class I've taken. He's super easy going and quirky and pretty damn funny. Tells these ridiculous stories and makes the class interesting too. It's a little repetitive and has a ton of reading, but it was enjoyable.

Loved the required readings. Didn't like the in-class discussions as much-would probably be better as a workshop prof. Discussions about novels tended to be very boring, but with a more lively class it may be better. Obviously really loves what he's teaching and tries to inspire similar feelings in his students.

Probably one of my favorite professors. He really knows what he's teaching and he's one of the best professors to have because he talks to you, not at you. He's pretty hilarious, especially when he swears. As long as you pay attention, you'll get a good grade. Creative writing with him is one of the best classes at Miami.

I took him for his screenwriting workshop. He was absolutely wonderful! He knows what he's talking about. He's helpful in class and outside of class. He expects a lot and really pushes you to get the best out of your writing. He's also laid back and hilarious!

I am a fan of Eric. He certainly has his own opinion of what is good in a work, but then again, he's a published novelist and that tends to happen. Eric is really helpful if you see him outside of class, funny and laid back during class. Just keep up with critiques.
