I've taken four classes with Professor Patterson and he's probably my favorite professor at HWS. He's intelligent and willing to help if you have problems with class. His classes aren't too difficult but in my opinion you learn a lot.

He's always complaining about the "alpha males" at HWS and in the English Department, but it turns out that he's as "alpha" as they come. He doth protest too much, me thinks. Stuck in the past and really sold on himself; yet, he can be amusing if you keep safe distance.

Professor Patterson is compassionate, kind, and incredibly thoughtful. He has immense knowledge in English and American Studies, and he is willing to help with every assignment. His classes are intellectually challenging but not overly difficult, because he is specific about what he expects.
