Extremely enthusiastic about his subject and answers any question posed to him. Always uploads his powerpoints but does so after the lecture, so you can't get away with just printing them out. Very clear grading criteria. Extremely helpful. HW is an easy A if you just do it. Doesn't allow use of cellphones in class. Looks fantastic with a beard.

Presentation, 4 tests, 4 assignments, a few pop quizzes that don't count much. It is pretty easy. He is very enthusiastic and always smiles. It makes the class enjoyable, and he is pretty funny too. You do have to put forth effort in his class to pass. If you study any at all for his tests, you will pass them. All multiple choice.

Super great guy. He is always trying to get his class to participate in group discussions or arguments and he will force you to think about things and give your feedback. Learned a lot in his Biopolitics class. His tests aren't easy and he expects you to know the material. He only gave us a midterm and a final + a book to read and present over

Dr. Pelren is wonderful and helpful. The Gens 101 class is easy, all we did was a few projects, summarized the book's chapters, and wrote in a sort of journal. He's the type of professor where you can go to his office, sit, and chat. He gives good advice and helps you decide what sort of career to pursue.

Lots of info in class. Dr. Pelren is an awesome guy that is very passionate abotu wildlife. Study, observe, and ask questions if you don't understand. You won't find a better guy / professor than Dr. Pelren.

pelren is a hard professor. not in a bad way. but he just expects a LOT from you. a lot of material is cover, a lot of notes are taken, and his tests are NOT multiple choice, not one single questions, in fact they are almost essays. like i said he requires you to REALLY know what youre talking about. this class was in my major and i barely made a B

The man knows his stuff. Is real helpful in class and outside of class, invites people to stop by his office for questions and is willing to help or find someone who can. Does like his coffee. gives alot of notes in class, but if you keep up and study them you will do fine on his tests, fair man but follows guidelines on academic dishonesty.

One of the best professors at UTM. Very enthusiastic about what he teaches. He will go out of his way to help you understand the material. But you have to help him keep up with his coffee cup. I recommend any of his classes. You will learn a great deal.
