was the best at BU. Shame to see him go. Course was tough but he was fair and kept it interesting always. Funny guy. Thanks for the PSA's.

Widmaier is literally fine at best. His lectures are monotonous, but important to attend because the topics he mentions in lecture are the topics covered on the test. Most of the learning you do will be on your own as the depth of each of the topics on the test is not covered at all in lecture. His lectures are disjointed so it is important to read

Probably one of the best courses I have taken at BU, it serves as the perfect intro to medicine for pre med students. I learned alot and he is an awesome professor. Be expected to read, solve end of chapter questions and also read case studies, A is 90 and above which is great. Lab is not hard but you need to put a lot of time into it: 3 hr/week

Learn, don't memorize. Even if you're not premed, take joy in his revelations of the medical and pharma industries. This was one of the greatest classes I have ever taken as it nicely combined various areas of science and logic. Get all good notes, preferably your own so that you know the reasoning behind W's own drawings. Study Qs from end of chap

Professor Widmaier is great! He's honestly funny and explains things clearly in class, not to mention that he draws out diagrams during class and explains concepts as he draws them rather than showing a bunch of slides. Don't ever skip class though, it's hard to get that info back, and the tests are honestly pretty difficult. I learned a lot though

Widmaier is a good professor. The lectures are good and straightforward and the basis for the tests. The textbook is important because he wrote it and relies on it quite heavily. The tests are not the easiest, but not a big deal if you study. He lets you record the lectures so that is good since there are no powerpoints that you could go back to.

Professor Widmaier was the best professor I have ever taken. He makes physiology very interesting and everyone of my friend was very inspired by his lectures and was very sad when the course was finished. It is a difficult course however and you really have to work for it. But it was definitely very worth it.

Great professor, and very funny, but he tells you that he will only test you on lecture material, but you have to read and basically memorize the textbook to do well.

My favorite professor at Boston University so far - I absolutely ADORE him. His passion for physiology makes me want to attend his lecture all the time and not skip out on any - and I haven't at all throughout the semester. Don't be fooled though - the class is ridiculously hard, so is the lab, but it is so worth it because of him.

Going out to my fellow BMEs: record the lectures. For the love of god, record the lectures. You also don't have to go to lecture, but go to lecture. Or take this over the summer and guarantee yourself a much higher grade.

Widmaier was absolutely fantastic. He's incredibly clear and really gets you interested in physiology. Exams aren't easy but if you go to class and study, it's very manageable. Take BI 315 if you're a bio major looking to fulfill your PN requirement. You learn so much and lectures are so interesting! My favorite class thus far at BU.

Widmaier was the best Professor I have had at BU so far. He is clear in his way of teaching and explains difficult topics fully and with extreme clarity. He will not give away "free grades". If you do not do well in this class, you cannot blame it on the professor.

Hands down the best Biology professor at BU. Super duper clear with lectures and really makes you think. However, you absolutely HAVE to record the lectures, as listening to it only once won't do you much justice.

All you have to know about Eric P Widmaier is that he gets a standing ovation at the end of every semester from his students. This class isn't the easiest BU has to offer but it certainly isn't the most difficult. Professor Widmaier makes his class very interesting and you can feel his passion for the subject matter. Lab is very intense however.

By far best professor I've ever had at BU. He is so clear and concise. Tests come straight from notes, but I found reading the textbook before class helped me follow the more difficult lectures (circulatory and respiratory systems). Lab is pretty stressful, the TFs are not helpful. Its a difficult class but you come out knowing so much.

Fantastic. Absolutely freaking fantastic. Systems Physiology is by no means an easy class, but Widmaier makes it all worth it. He is, without a doubt, the best professor I've had so far at BU - clear, concise, and extremely informative. I learned so much in this class. Go to class, take excellent notes, know them cold, and you will do well!

Makes learning fun, makes you want to go to class, gets really excited about physiology. But there are no study guides powerpoints/notes are not posted online so you need to go to every single class. Exams are really hard but lab will bring up your grade.

Widmaier is one of the best BU professors. He is crystal clear and makes it fascinating. I'm currently in med school and I miss his teaching from undergrad. KNOW his notes! DON'T READ the book, that's overkill. Just KNOW the practice questions, physiological inquiries, and bold terms from the book. Widmaier is the way to go.

He's an ok professor, but he assumes all his students want to go into the medical field which can be annoying and boring (when he talks about medicine). Be warned, the lab for this course is pretty stressful. TFs are unhelpful in lab and you don't get the feeling you learned anything except how to use Excel in high pressure work environments.

Such an awesome professor! Only standing ovation I've seen a prof get here. He teaches topics that can be challenging so well that you just have to study what he says and you'll do fine. Also the figures in the book. Lab is tough, at least w/ Angela. But you learn a lot there, too. Curves tests to a B. Not as hard as I heard it was. Take this class
