Comment:
I thought that it was a pretty easy class. Compared to other science classes I've taken at UMD this one was by far one of the easiest because he basically gives you the test questions so you can memorize the answers. I did not learn very much but it was definitely a GPA booster.

I was super nervous taking this class because of his ratings, but his class isn't too bad. It super boring don't get me wrong! He gives random quizes so attendance is kind of mandatory but he drops two. His test are super hard, BUT he gives you the option to do three essay questions instead of multiple choice. DO the essay questions!

Erik thinks he's super funny, but that's the only reason why he's funny- he laughs at all of his own jokes. Super quirky. The majority of what he says in class isn't relevant to anything. Attendance is mandatory because he does in class quizzes and assignments with clickers. Study guides are key to passing exams- all info needed are on them.

Taking this class was a HUGE mistake. you must teach yourself the material, which ends up being useless anyways because the tests are brutally difficult. He gives study guides but they are completely worthless, Gives 5 pop questions, so attendance is important.

This class was the biggest mistake of my life. Don't listen to any adviser that tells you it is interesting...LIES! Boring, and hard (he offers little to no assistance). Avoid if possible, if you can't...then good luck. His study guides are hard...which makes no sense.

This class, like everyone else has said, is painfully boring. Erik is obviously extremely intelligent and funny, but he's not meant for teaching. Except the tests are EXTREMELY easy. He give you the entire test before you take it, so it's easy to study for. There are pop quizzes.

Grad level course, extremely complicated material. Erik is really helpful and funny. You can tell that this subject is more interesting to him and at his level than some of the 1000 level courses that he has received bad ratings for. No tests except for a final.

The professor is a nice guy and you can clearly see he loves teaching this class. But I don't recommend it at all. He goes through his power point presentations way to fast and when you ask him to slow down he just tells you its in the book. Tests are extremely curved and that's because there impossible. There is no point of showing up to class exc

Oceanography was the most boring class I have ever taken in my ENTIRE life. I dreaded going to it everyday. He's a nice guy and funny, but I don't think he cares about his students at all. He goes extremely fast on the powerpoint. Tests are very hard. And I don't like how he grades or his tests. I would defenitly NOT recommend oceanography to

Tests are extremely curved because no one goes, so no one knows anything.Sounds interesting but its not
