This was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. Roughly 100 words minimum per chapter. She speaks Spanish most of the class which can be confusing in a beginner course. She does offer Extra credit which is nice. She is very bubbly and energetic which brings a new energy to the classroom.

I found her to be insulting and arrogant.. You will not find much support from her if you are struggling. Look elsewhere for a Spanish class.

Speaks Spanish 90% of the time. Is unclear with assignments. Barely follows syllabus. There are no tests just essays and presentations. When she does give instructions, they go into excruciating detail or none at all. She is a lenient grader. She gives out random, out of the blue assignments, sometimes with huge time sinks or are group assignments.

I love Profesora Encarnacion! She is the cutest and always smiling and happy. She brightens your day. Her class is easy to pass if you put in the effort. She wants you to improve in the language, and that is her main goal of the course. Sometimes the assignments aren't very clear, but she is easy on grading so that's OK. I would def retake her!

I had her for SPI 102 and I took four years of Spanish in high school. If I hadn't taken any spanish that class would have been impossible. She gives out handouts and you go over them in class; she tends to do this every single day. Expects you to learn and memorize things on your own. Would not recommend for intro class

she's pretty tough but I like her eclectic nature and she is occasionally interesting. You basically teach yourself the chapters and she ALWAYS pushes tests back. You have to attend class but you also have to teach yourself. I learned plenty from her but I don't think I would take again.

Really not clear about assignments. Kind of makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Attendance is mandatory, she counts you absent if she sees you on your phone. Gives extra credit, but some of it is like impossible to do. She is late to class everyday by at least 10 minutes. She is kind of funny, just makes the class way too hard for being intro

HW must be 100% complete and corrected or its a zero. will not speak English, makes fun of you if you are wrong. This class is impossible if you have never taken a Spanish class. She will not work with you if you are lost. Should not be an Intro teacher.

Attendance is a must in this class. Professor Encarnacion follows a strict syllabus and you have to study the lessons to do well on the tests. Prior experience taking Spanish will make this class 10x easier. Follow her rules while you're in her class and you will be fine.

Great teacher, but don't expect to miss classes and still get good grades. The class is a little tough at times, but as long as you attend, do the assignments, and STUDY, you'll do fine.

She's an active and interesting teacher. I didn't fall asleep in class which is a big improvement. She was smart and would answer questions honestly. Most of the things in class were interesting though most of what you learned you learned from the book and not her.

I loved having Encarnacion for Spanish. She is funny and she's always in a good mood and enthusiastic, so it's easy to like her. She does move quickly through lessons and puts people on the spot, but if you ask her to slow down or about the translation of a word, she'll help. I picked her class again for SPI 102 and I'm excited for it.

I liked her. If you go to class and study, you will do fine in the course. She's a nice lady, but she WILL put you on the spot, so come prepared! Workbooks have to be filled in ENTIRELY-- Otherwise, she'll give you a zero. She's tough, but I learned a lot in her class!

awful. moves way too fast, does not teach relies on the student to read the textbook and comprehend the language before returning to the next class. pop in class quizzes daily. Humiliates you if you are wrong. My class started with 30 students by the end of the semester we only have 5 left and only 3 passed. AVOID AT ALL COSTs

I really enjoyed Professor Encarnacion's class. However, I would not recommend her for those who have no previous Spanish experience. If you took Spanish and high school than you'll be fine, but for everyone else her class may be a bit fast paced and you might find yourself lost. Regardless, I had a great time in her class. She?s pretty hilarious a
