Flies through power points and does not post them online. My recommendation if you take her class is to take pictures of the slides. There are 2500 word papers due every 2 weeks, however she was an okay grader. I got a "B" on every paper. She seems tough but show up and due the work.

I really enjoy Dr Steuter's class about pop culture. I agree that it is a tough course but it is also very interesting, which makes it a lot less tough. Dr Steuter always asks for class opinions on different aspects of pop culture and will gladly discuss the newest episode of the Kardashians. Two 4500-word midterms and one 30 pages final.

Flies through powerpoints without posting them. Assigns 10 page midterms (2) and requires you to complete & get a good grade on a 30 page independent study (otherwise you don't pass the course). She is very bias and rarely examines perspectives that are not her own. Feedback on assignments are not constructive & are quite condescending.

I was in Dr. MacDougall's section of Sociology 1001, but Steuter still taught a few of our lectures, and it was obvious she knew her stuff, her powerpoints are really informative, but she goes through them too fast for students to copy them down(and doesnt upload them either). Knowledgeable woman;just cant teach well

2000 word essays due every two weeks, very little feedback received on the essays so it was hard to improve from one essay to the next. Doesn't post her lecture slides to Moodle and there's no way you can copy everything as she's on each slide for about 30 seconds and there's so much information

Dr. Steuter is good when it comes to lectures - she is clearly very passionate about pop culture and I have learned a lot. But the amount of work assigned is UNREASONABLE. 17 page take home midterms (two of them) and a final paper that has to be 30 pages? No consideration that students have other course work or any sort of work load.

Dr. Steuter, although teaches first year classes, assumes too much for first years. Her sociology class was REALLY tough. I just could not figure out the sociological perspective she was saying to me...I will avoid her classes for the rest of my years at Mount Allison.

Probably one of my fav profs in MtA! She is very smart, and approachable outside of class. Her lectures are amazingly intriguing and workload is fair I think. If you attend the class and take notes, you'll be golden. Sucks that she'll be away next year.

Erin is a great prof. She is passionate and makes interesting assignments. she's very busy, but good to talk to (don't be intimidated!) Her classes are too movie focussed (every week), and leave you feeling like you know the problem but not how to fix it. She makes you work, but you learn lots.

Loved Dr. Steuter, I took her Gender Relations class and she showed both sides feminine AND masculine. She might push Feminist theory but what do you expect out of a feminist!!! How does one get a message across if you don't talk about it! I love her and can't wait to take another class with her. She is strong independent and overall amazing! <3

Oh my. I took this class when it was taught by three profs, and she was the last. I guess I wasn't ready for the onslaught against the male gender. It was pretty shocking, and many of my female friends felt pretty embarrassed during the class. You can read the textbook to learn what you need to know for the test; skip Steuter's class.

Steuter is a great prof once you get past the first 1001 class. That class is marked so hard and unfairly. But in second year or higher years her lectures are intersting, she marks fairly, and her exams reviews are impecable. If you can stick through 1001 definatly register for one of her classes at a higher level

Listen Steuter, there is no need to mark these crappy little assignments so hard, if ya havent noticed no one cares about them and most of the class does them the night before. Your lectures were sooo boring, please let doyle take over your half...
