Comment:

Went very deep into the material even though it was an intro class. You DO NOT need to read the book.. he assigned us to get one with an access code and we never used it. I found that he was a tough grader on out of class assignments, but he was much easier for essay tests. Nice guy but goes on tangents easily so I did not like his teaching style.

Comment:

SC340 was one of the most annoying courses I've had. He gives group papers and group presentations, so getting good grades is nearly impossible since you have to rely on other people all the time. He's one of the toughest graders I've had in a while and I never feel smart enough to talk to him.

I have taken 3 classes with De Zolt, and they are all structured the same. Mandatory attendance, dyad presentations, and essay formatted tests. He gives you the review, so it is pretty easy. Great teacher, who is very opinionated but also open to other views. Love this guy.

Excellent instructor and very passionate about the material!The inclass notes are very helpful for the exams but you need to read thebook to get an A. The exams are all essay. Regardless of your possition on a topic you will get a good grade as longas you can support it! Unlike other professors I've had. Take this class!!

Fantastic prof. Passionate about what he's teaching, and genuinely cares for his students and their success. Had him for FYS on Social Justice & Responsibility - he made sure students were involved and interested in class discussions, but didn't make the class overly tough. Definitely recommended!

So funny and interesting. You can tell how passionate he is about the subjects he teaches on. He is always willing to help you out if anything isn't clear to you. I would absolutely recommend him to others.

Dezolt is such a sweet prof- lectures are so intresting I lost track of time! He is really understanding and there is no homework- only a couple tests and short reflection papers which he gives plenty of time for you to do them. I HIGHLY reccommend him.

he asks for alot in papers and on tests.you should def keep up on the readings or its game over for u. great guy, humorous at times.attendence not a real big issue but his class notes really help.since someone put a quote up, i shall add one of my own he said"i would love to put the football pads on and have Richard crash into me"!kinda scary huh?
